  1. Steady golf improvement...

18/10/12 Thursday. Back home after a week of travelling and looking forward to having a hit today. Did get out and play four holes after arriving home yesterday that was cut short with cart hire duties for green fee players. Must admit that this will not be missed after November when I go off committee, while still volunteering for other club duties will still be a commitment on my part if it is not Junior Golf or New Membership development I will not be stepping forward.

  2. Handicap Championship preparations on track...

3/5/12 Thursday With the continued rain during the week it has been difficult to get out on the course and practise. Continued with using the old blades for anotherrange session on Wednesday. It is not that difficult in essence to hit the ball with them. There is no forgiveness for miss hits and the jarring of the hands and arms soon get me concentrating on doing it right. 3. Right on target...

30/4/12 Monday Second qualifying round for the club Handicap Championship played out as well as could be expected. The fine weather on the day set up the charge for position in the finalsand I was one of the four in the two weeks of qualifying who played to handicap or better.

  4. A Taste of Winter...

24/4/12 Tuesday The round on Sunday was our first taste of winter weather with the coastal wind that is an understated description of this course condition. Golfcourses on the coast are affected by this in different ways. To use another sport as an example of how the prevailing wind is at the Robe course, the national wind surfing titles have been held off the beaches because wavesand wind are guaranteed. The weather has been benign to say the least of late, with warm days and relatively still air. ...

  5. Championship Qualifying time...

18/4/12 Wednesday. Had to change the travelling plan for the weekend to play at the Heywood Open Tournament. Work commitment on the Sunday made it too difficultto be able to guarantee getting there in time to play, being a 27 hole competition it meant leaving at 6.30am to get there by 8.30am Tee off. Was looking forward to the challenge as I had not played the course, my body ishappy it is a no show as it was a real struggle to complete the 18 holes on Sunday just gone. Working on the rehabilitation ...
