Two years ago today on 31/5/2009 I played my first round of golf in competition off a 36 handicap, after 20 odd year break from golf. My handicap is now 13 after last Sunday’s round. With a gross 82 played to a 9 hcp on the day. Some did say that my goal of reaching 10 was a pipe dream way back then. Judging others is never a good thing when they are as obstinate as I am at getting to a goal.

Good grief it is hard to admit that I have let work and responsibility get in the way of playing golf of late…it is times like this when reality makes me realise how much I miss the irresponsible 24hr a day party person days. Then again certain body parts, beginning with liver, kidneys, the mushy grey thing between my ears and eyes that earnt frequent flyer points for using eye drops would disagree with my fanciful recall of the “good Old days”

Friday 13th May 2011
Had a great time at the Naracoorte Golf Club 2 cocks Day. The major fundraiser for the club’s season has 200 golfers in 5 person Ambrose ambling around hitting balls and wining and dining at the various Tee blocks on fresh roasted lamb, tender steak bbq’ed to perfection, shucked oysters and of course a selection of local wins. Over the recent Easter break I had taken some well earnt time off and decided to go up with my partner to Sydney to explore some of the courses in the enemy state.
