  1. Chopper Progressions.

Well Its been a few weeks now, and I can finally say my iron play is starting to come good. Im standing over a ball with any of the silver sticks with confidence that it will go where I want it to and not the lack of confidence and hoping it will go somewhere kind of near where it needs to be, but on the same fairway.

Confidence, I have found, is entirely under-rated and is just as important or more than a decent swing.

Im not saying now that I can put the ball to within ...

  2. Quest to break 80 - Round 1

March 26 - Redland Bay vs PAR. Fine breezy weather. 6:24 Tee off.

Played ion a threesome, with 2 single markers I had never played with before. Both were great to play with and I had a really enjoyable round.

Result - 0 points, '91' off the stick (a few holes not putted out).

Remembering that GIR are important, to take dead Aim, make sure I have a solid base with legs torqued, and keep tension out of arms.

After posting the break 80 link and receiving some good advice, I am going to cronicle my quest to break 80. My best round to date has been 80 at Wynnum. I am overcoming some injuries, bone on bone in the right hip and various damaged joints.

At this stage, I can not do the 3 hours a week thing. So I have to do it another way. Suggestions always welcome.

Advice from Vegas - look to hit more GIR. If you have no putts for birdie it is hard to break 80. This seems ...

  4. The Tassie Trip - Day 4

After an uneasy nights sleep, I made the short drive to Lost Farm at around 7.30 in the morning. As I pulled in, Kingslayer and Eags were already in motion, moving toward the chipping green. The balls went up, and I was paired with Hux against Nudgee and Peter-RS. Well ... didn't we give them a pounding .. a 5/4 victory to the good guys. After the match was over, we let them sneak back some respect by winning the back 9. Hux played awesome ... the week of golf in Victoria obviusly agreed with him ...

  5. The Tassie Trip - Day 3.

After behaving myself last night .. only one beer after dinner in the cage .. I thought I'd get an early start to the day. Then I woke up at 8am. Thats two hours later than normal. I could live down here if it wasnt so cold .. I cant sleep in anywhere except Hobart.
Drove down and checked out Royal Hobart ... looks flat but very well maintained.
Then over to the Tasmania Golf Club. Thought I'd better cart it with a few big days coming up ... and after birdying the last 2 at Kingston ...
