Good luck KJ! Same with last year, didn't really keep up the blog, but I also didn't really keep up the work.

I think we've got similar goals and expectations, as well as similar plans to get there...

And if you really want to add some incentive, you can always join the biggest loser comp!

You have it down pat KJ, number 6 is the best point for a year of playing the game. Just have a crack and have fun.

Good luck. Good scrambling around the greens was a key to what got my handicap down.

Nice one Kristian! Just took a look through the course tour of Glenmore - a couple of brutal holes there! What really caught my eye though was that not one, but two holes on the course are named "Man's dream". Sounds awfully dodgy to me.

Good luck with the handicap establishment.

Any cards towards this yet? Will one need to be signed at The Springs?

    Congrats Kristian

I was a member there for many years. Though I haven't played there for a while, I'm sure you will find the course interesting (except on medal day when the pins are in stupid places and a round can take 6 hours...). You'll also enjoy the company of the friendly members there.

    Cheers

    nice review K

i remember a rumour about it expanding to 18 holes? guessing this would be defunct now with stonecutter's down the road

Kristian, you will have to take a trip to the lower north shore, it's 9 hole nirvana. Castlecove, Lane Cove, Cammeray and Balgowlah. I played all my jnr golf at Castlecove, 6 par threes and 3 par 4's. The 3rd, 4th and 5th were Par 3's over 240m and the 5th was a dogleg. Tough to maintain a low cap in those days (1980)

Canterbury is surprisingly good. They could have squeezed in 18 holes but instead chose to go with 9 well-spaced holes.

    Botany is not too bad.

A good 9 hole track is far superior to a rubbish 18.

RMC in Canberra is only 9 holes, but is well maintained with limited resources. Its a better track than Fairburn a couple of k away.

Binningup (WA) is in my top 10, and its only a 9 holer. Also enjoyed Rosebury (Tas) - for a course maintained by Members, its pretty nice. Tathra and Greens Beach (Tassie) are also highly rated 9 hole tracks.

There are plenty of bad ones - Mollymook Beachside as an example.
