I am currently trying lighter shafts in my irons because I only play about once a week and rarely get to the range. I have nippon 950wf's in my Titty 704's, nippon 1050's in my SE 600c's and I have some DGSL's on order to try in my Cleveland TA2's.
So far the change to lighter shafts has been good, I have dropped 3 full shots off my handicap in 6 weeks, 2 rounds average rounds + 0.1 each, 3 good rounds -3.2 and a 4BBB.

What I am looking at doing now is changing the shafts in my wedges from DG's to something lighter as well. Most likely one of the shafts mentioned above, and wanted to know if anyone has tried lighter shafts in there wedges and how they went, and what you would recommend.

Some people are a fan of TX90's in the wedges, and if you tip and trim them right, they are the same as the spinner. I have one in a couple of my wedges, but i really haven't tried enough clubs to tell any difference.

What is your handicap Goonie ?

;) just kidding  I've never really noticed the difference in shafts in wedges, hell I even tried a gap wedge with a graphite shaft once !

Wedge flex DG's all the way 8)

I have DG SL's in my spare SE600w and found the swingweight increased too much and went back to normal DG's. Something to me mindful of. I think I still have 3 DG SL's made to wedge flex in the garage somewhere if you are interested. They are taper tips.

Ok, I have added the added the a TX-90 to the mix (thanks Lucky)
So I now have DGSL, nippon 1050gh and a TX-90 to test and compare.

Shafted my spare Clevey 52* CG10 and 58* 900 with the DGSL's I got off Lucky, I will try them this weekend, The DGSL's are going well in my TA2s so I am keen to try them in the wedges as well.

Another option is to use 8 iron shafts in your wedges... good weight - slightly softer,

It is what I have in my wedges
