Normal & Tour Drivers... Difference?

G'day everyone,

What are the major differences between Normal drivers and Tour Drivers?

Am looking at a 3DX Driver from Nickent, and have the choice of Normal or Tour. Should I go tour, or stick to the normal?

I've hit a lot of retail and Tour drivers and I can't really tell the difference unless the Tour head has had hotmelt applied. With the hotmelt the head feels more solid and is quieter, although with too much hotmelt the head feels a little dead. I've had a lot of Tour heads but the driver that has spent most time in my bag in the past 12 months is a 510 TP NO WARRANTY head!

As a general rule of thumb tour drivers are usually fade bias and non tour are draw bias. If your typical miss is to the right (slice/cut/fade etc) go for the non tour. Vice versa if your miss is to the left(draw/hook etc) go for the tour version. The tour version will generally spin less resulting in a lower flight.

Tour heads are usually closer to designated loft too as well as generally being less closed.

I think Dazza is referring to the retain "tour" designation no the genuine Tour heads. So Ricks answer is actually the relevant one.
