Good to see him bounce back with a great victory ... been a long time coming.
For those that don't know, he won on the first playoff hole after Paul Goydos hit his tee shot on 17 into the piss
Should move Sergio up the world rankings quite a bit too.

yeah but how bad was his birdie putt to win lol. Good to see him win though he has a lot of talent and is easier to watch now he doesnt stand over the ball for ever before a shot :)

Pity for Paul Goydos, he has been a bit of a journeyman, one of the Q School guys followed in "A Good Walk spoiled". 10 year exemption with the players too I think.

Well done Sergio
Adam will almost certainly lose his #3 ranking back to Ernie.....

true, but when you have 3 putts to win it doesn't really matter does it ;)
Goydos was very unlucky and deserved to win it actually ..... Sergio did just enough to hang on, including making some clutch up & downs coming down the stretch.

I think it's 5 year exemption on the Tour but still pretty handy.

How so?
He lead from the get-go, and if he hadn't have hit a poor shot into the 17th play-off hole, probably could've beaten Sergio

But it's not like Sergio was far off the lead all week?? He had the lead after the first round.

Goydos was 3 shots up with about 6 holes to play i think.
Don't get me wrong, Sergio played really well .. leading the field in fairways hit and G.I.R's all week :)

sergio's final round deserved him the win i though. what'd he finish -2 for the day... Goydos unfortunately saved his worst round for last. But regardless, between them they were dominate over the entire weekend.

when it matters, Sergio shot 71 to Goydos' 74. Enough said.

How is that "unlucky"? He coughed up a decent lead to end up in a playoff? Luck had nothing to do with it.

Those 2 bogeys he had down the stretch were a tad unlucky, he hit 2 good iron shots that ended up through the green - too pumped up I suppose. Then he took the soft ( but probaly smart) option on 18. Hey over $1m for 2nd place no wonder he did not look too upset at the end of it.
