G'day All,

Back in August 2007 I purchased 2x Proline Tourer 11 Seated Buggies from Golfworks Woolloongabba. $84 each.

Now I know the old saying, you get what you pay for....But I think this is just a joke!!! I had a Pilgrim buggy before this, and didn't have a single problem!

Plenty of surface rust, causing the paint to flake.

The handle is glued to a square plastic sleeve which slots into the buggy.
Glue has now let go, and handle pulls out.

The nut that you screw the bolt into to hold the wheel/axle in place has come out of it's plastic holder.
The spring that keeps the axle in place continually pops out, making it tough to push! Ended up purchasing another set of wheels.

Has anyone else had these issues?
Do I have a case? Or should I just harden up, cop it on the chin and take them both to the dump?
I've sent Golfworks and Proline an Email, so we'll see what they say.

Cheers

I have a proline buggy that is over 10 years old and has never missed a beat, it has copped some abuse too. Dont use it as much now I carry more though.

There wasn't even an invoice in the box, let alone anything about a warranty.

Only copy I have is now saved on my desktop. I tracked it down through my Golfworks Shop history online.

You don't have the humidity that we do up here, though. Anything metal attracts rust very quickly.

Do Forged clubs rust faster or slower than Cast ones?

Or does it just feel as if they rust faster or slower?

I'm not sure about Qld, but the NSW Fairtrading Act covers goods that doesn't meet reasonible expectations.

http://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/

(Usually select Consumers, then Refunds and Warranties.)

It is handy to get the correct terminology, when going back to the retailer. In this case, the goods clearly 'have a basic, serious fault that was not known by the consumer at the time of purchase'.

Thanks for that Dotty. I've emailed both parties (Proline and Golfworks) so I'll see what they say before I take it any further.

Update-
I emailed Proline, and they made contact!!
Now I didn't want to involve my local pro, as he didn't have anything to do with the sale in the first place. But Proline insisted that I take the buggies down to him for an assessment. Dropped them off yesterday, and I should have an answer this afternoon.
Will keep everyone updated.

Thanks

Sorted it out with the Proline rep. $140 credit at the local pro-shop. As the pro said, they're shocking!
Am glad it's over now, and I've moved on with the Smoothy! :)
