I need an early start as well.

Every 2nd wednesday, I have a date with a 7 year old & a 5 year old at Gloria Jeans at 3pm. A short, but good looking 38 year old comes along as well.

How does Cabramatta sound with everyone? played there today and was very impressed with the course condition. Fairways & greens are in great nick. At $20 it is pretty good value too.
Miro - Would Cabramatta be a better option for you? ie. closer
We need to settle on a time too.
Andrew, myself looking at an early one, what about the rest of you guys? Is 7:30 ok?

Scottt

Virge might also be a starter if it's Cabra. He wasn't too keen on driving to Penrith, and I can't say I blame him.

Cabra is fine by me. I've never played well at Penrith anyway, a monthly medal win aside.

Between 7.30 and 8 is fine with me.

Hi guys,

I’ve been meaning to get back to this thread, but a family friend passed away early Thursday morning. They were not someone particularly close to me, but I will be obliged to go to the funeral. At the moment, I’m not sure when the funeral is, but it will possibly be Wednesday.

You guys go ahead & book, as I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to play.

I called today and the best they could give us was two groups - one at 9.03am and one at 9.17am.

So far we have:

Scottt
Matt3Jab
Miro
Grunt
Virge - pending confirmation
Andrew - pending funeral arrangements

So there are at least two places left.

Miro and Grunt, I need you to PM me your full name and home club so I can call them to cleap up the groups. So far it's just mine and Matt's names with 6x A. Player :D

Scottt, edit your 1st post to list the times and venue. It will make it easier to list results for Peter rs to add the results to POTY etc. Also gives everyone the detail at the top of each page in the thread.

The rest of you Sydney guys lets build this up and get a full 2 groups to a NSW midweek event. Something that has not happened midweek ever, I reckon.

Shame.

Can we not do earlier . . . That is peak hour hell for me, not to mention not finishing before 1:30ish . . .

Sorry to be a pain - but early is about the only way I can do it. I also have a real job and if I don't work - I don't get paid.

That might be difficult at Cabramatta. I was a member there years ago & Wednesday comp was always heavily booked up to about 9am with mostly the same guys each week.

BTW, I'm sorry to hear about the real job. ;)

No can do, Virge. All they had was 9.03 and 9.17. I asked for something before then and they didn't even have single spots! Not even at 6.30!!

So what is the go with the groups? are we just playing a 4 & 1 or 2 & 3? Would be good to get some others to play?
Anyone?

Scottt
12th May 2008, 04:00 PM
We'll need to sort this out tonight so I can call them tomorrow and finalise the names.

I should probably be able to ring one mate in, so ideally another one or two will give us 3 and 3 or 3 and 4.

3OneDay? Jono? Mikezone? Others?

Scottt
12th May 2008, 11:12 PM
Okay guys. I'm gonna lock this up now, so if you see this before 9am tomorrow, PM me to tell me you want in, otherwise I'll have rung up already.

My mate Brad is playing as well, so we have six.

See you all in the morning. More than 1 group for a NSW OzGolf midweek game, amazing=P~.

Grunt

Thanks for the game Miro & Virge666, wish I could say I enjoyed the golf. I should rephrase that, I enjoyed the golf just not my golf. From the 1st shot to the last it was not good.
Can you ask for a handicap adjustment that truely show your game? I am a 25 marker at best at the moment.:smt087.

Was good to meet a couple of the newer faces around here -Virge and Scottt.

I think the results were

Me 35 points
Matt 33 points
Scott 32 points

Grunt and Virge -not enough points.

As for Cabramatta Golf course which I had never played before it is ok. Greens were very true. But there are certainly some "interesting" holes -nothing a very large chainsaw could not fix. All in all another very good Ozgolf day.

Almost unbelievably in my mind Cabra rated 72 against its Par of 70 yesterday -which meant I played 1 better than handicap which was a nice suprise.

Needless to say I think I would be a lot better player (in handicap terms) if I was a member there -I reckon I would regularly shoot a couple shots lower than my current average if I was a member there -and then the course goes and rates up two shots. Gees I might be a two marker if I was a member there. ;)

Scottt

I noticed that Miro. Given four or five games there I think it might be an easy place to get some shots down. I looked at their website and it rates 72 on Wednesday quite regularly.

What are you playing off?

miro
15th May 2008, 12:10 PM
4 so I dropped back down to 3.9 which as I said was a nice suprise.

Trung
15th May 2008, 04:45 PM
Did you throw any clubs?

miro
15th May 2008, 04:53 PM
Nah Trungy -I think I pulled a shoulder muscle last time I really threw a club so have tried to limit the time my clubs spend airborne.
