So you're telling me that soaking a manganese bronze putter in coka-cola overnight will take it from this:

Also, how do you do paintfill? Can most golf pros do it?

Buy some acetone and use a cotton tip to clean out painfill or you can use gel paint remover.

will acetone clean the putter? I have a can of it at home.

Be careful if you use acetone near the hosel, it'll eat away at the glue

I don't think acetone will remove the tarnish but it is worth a try. I just thought of a method of cleaning tarnished metal, you will need a large yoghurt-tub sized container, washing soda crystals (you can buy in any supermarket) and a couple of strips of alfoil. Fill the container with warm water so the putter head is submersed then stir in a tablespoon of washing soda and drop in the alfoil strips and you should see some bubbling after a minute or so. Leave for 5 minutes and pull it out and you should have a shiny putter.

Has anyone found with coking they get minute bubble-sized pitting in the metal? I coked a raw wedge a while back and the metal appears to have tiny holes in it!

Trust me it works well, I did it on my managanese ping anser.

Becareful if you clean to far you can get a mirrior finish that reflect sun everywhere.

A fine tip modelling paint brush and some model or automotive paint. Just slap it in (or brush delicately, whatever floats your boat) and don't worry about a bit of overspill. Leave it a bit, then get some cotton buds, dip in nail polish remover, squeeze so not dripping wet, and wipe over and remove the excess. Easy.

I've done my ping irons twice, and some woods etc. Not hard. I doubt most pro's would have a clue!
