i was in every hole i only missed out on 3 because he had a 4 or a 3 pointer over my 3 or 2.
i had my own card going and i would have had 6 under 63 off the stick.

missed a couple of easy putts 3,4,5 footers for birdies and a couple of eagles.
missed putts was the name of the game today.
Still happy though :D

Wow Shane. That is great shooting. You must join us next time we have a Vic Ozgolf Day. Be great to watch someone play as good as you up close and personal.

Pennant yesterday at our home course. Great to have that home course advantage.;) Especially on our tricky greens. The team won 5 1/2 - two of the girls won on the 11th.:smt038 I won 4/3 and was very happy with my game. We are 3rd at the moment and have one game to go. We can't win but for a little club like ours and without the handicaps to match the top teams we have done well. Playing The National at Mornington next week. Tough team and tough course - bring it on!!!

Shot 94 today for 18 holes.
Am quite glad that I've broken 100. Putting/Chipping has improved, as has the direction of my drives.

Better half went out and shot 66 for 9 holes. First ever round.
Good effort, considering she only has 7% normal vision (Can see 5mt in front of her)
I'm proud, can you tell? :)

Cheers

Shot 80 this morning with 1 double & 2 birdies. A couple of soft bogies prevented it from being a very solid round.

93/72 for 36 Points today. Wind was swirly and a bit tricky, but some poor shots and a lazy missed tap in cost me a good score. Hit 10 fairways but only 1 gir. 33 putts.

Played average today at reddy bay with dc and pete but the company was good and there was some good shots played through out the day. Like Pete said the swirly winds made it interesting. Shot 80/75 for 33 points. Could have been so much better but got real lazy on the back nine. Oh well thats golf and theres always tomorrow. Thanks for the invite and game guys i enjoyed it.

25 points at Macarthur Grange with Grunt today. I always post my comp rounds, good or bad. This was just about the pits though. Bad Ball striking, terrible chipping, and I abandoned the claw putting grip after a 4 putt at our 6th hole. That didn't even help the score much.

Fairways = 5 of 11
Greens = 5 of 18
Putts = 38, 2 3putts, 1 4putt, zero birdies
Up & Down = 2 of 9
3 penalty shots

36 points today at Yowani. I feel like I am wasting a pretty decent vein of form. My ball striking is as good as it has been for a long time, but I should be pumping out the odd 4 or 5 under the way I am hitting it.

It's pretty simple. I'm not taking advantage of par 5s. Do that, and my score drops by 3 or 4 straight away.

Way to ruin an ok yet not spectacular round!!!! Was sitting on my hc coming to the 18th at city gc.

With the wind behind and driving like shite all day, I decide to smash it - into the trees right. No shot, punch backwards best shot but I try and hit it forwards to the 150, and hit it half way and behind more trees. 150 to green and dead, try to hit a huge hooked 7 iron, which goes around the immediate tree but was never gonna get high enough to get around the next. Ball dead under another tee, but I figured from 90mtrs I can hit a 9 iron gripped half way up the shaft and still with no backswing. In the water hazzard. Drop ball and hit it barely onto the green. Putt it half way, just barely up the ridge, miss the next one low (been doing that all day) and tap in for 9.

Vital stats - 1 fir (3 effective if you wanna go that far 'cause 2 deserved to be fir's), 4 gir's and 36 putts!

Unspectacular yet at my hc for 17 holes and even with the brain fart on the last I'm still around my hc.

When will that big round come! I feel it's just around the corner.

73 nett 72 at Yowani in a medal. Filthy fog for 8 holes, followed by a strong breeze for the back nine. Made 4 birdies and an eagle, but made 5 bogeys in a row, plus a couple of others at 12 and 14. Feeling quite unfulfilled about the whole thing.

In good news, if the ccr is as expected I shall be a scratch marker again later today.

36 points today. Not great, but much better than yesterday. It was back to the future though, with my newish Hi-Bore driver sacked and replaced by the old Mizuno MP01 and the claw putting grip officially history after quite a reasonable putting effort with the conventional grip. Pity about the bunker yips though. One hitler, and two other dodgy ones.

Fairways = 10 of 14
Greens in reg = 7 of 18
Putts = 30, zero 3putts, 1 birdie
Up&Down = 3 of 8
Sand Saves = 0 of 3

What a strange round I had today, but it certainly got the monkey off my back.Started on the 10th with a double, then had back-to-back birdies on 12 & 13 (both par 5s) followed by a triple (don't ask), then a couple of pars and back-to-back birdies again on 17 & 18 for a 38 gross (+1 or 22pts). The 2nd nine was a bit scrappy at the beginning, but I came home strong with a 5th birdie and a couple more pars for another 38 gross (+3 or 19pts).
So that makes a 76 (+4) for 41pts and only the second time this year I've broken my handicap (the last time was last Saturday).

Tee shots: 11/14
Greens: 10/18
Putts: 29

had 17/17 - 34 on the North Course at Keperra today - was a real scrambling affair, scored on every hole and not real unhappy with the result overall considering some of the woeful tee shots I hit today........it really seemed to be a case of damage control for most of the round and glad I kept it together, unlike some - [one of my group was a club thrower of extraordinary magnitude ! - would have rivalled Macca in his bad old days !] ......
Best - 15th - cracking 6 iron all water carry approach 150 m to a front pin, 2 putts for par and 3 points..............
Worst - 23rd - par 5 - 3rd shot approach from 120m to a front pin but stupid me only worked out distance to centre ! - consequently hit 9 iron / should have hit P Wedge ............. ended up over back in gully and walked off with a very ugly 7...

always next week...............

26/04/2008, Woodford Open Round 1.

9/14 effective tee-shots.
6/18 effective approaches (5 on the back 9).
3/10 up and down successes.
35 putts (20 on the back 9).
-----------
8 pars.
7 bogeys.
3 others.
Score 43-42-85 nett 75 (Par 36-36-72 CCR 69)

I was happy with my ball striking today (yes, even the irons), and my chipping and bunker play was good too. Unfortunately, I just couldn't sink a putt. A few messy holes didn't help either (nice 3 putt from inside two metres on the last ). If I can get the putting going okay tomorrow and take out a few dodgy shots, I might be able to post a solid score. I was encouraged by today's round anyway.

Oh, and I'm out to 11 now.

Next round: Back to Woodford tomorrow.

AM - 1st round of Club Champs at Caboolture 85/72 46-39, so went out badly but came in better
PM - 1st round of Woodford Cup 89/76 49-40. 4 putted the first for a double, and 5-9 cost 11 shots over par, so the other 12 holes were only 4 over.

Tomorrow
2nd round of Club Champs, and 2nd round of Woodford Cup.

Very tired feet (and rest of me) at the moment.

Played Windaroo on Saturday with the crew. Course looked good from the carpark, but greens were terrible. My last hit was in Tassie and I never managed to recalibrate my brain to the slow, bumpy greens at Windaroo. Hit the ball very nicely, new/old 905S worked nicely and irons were decent. Shame I couldn't make a putt all day. Ahh well. Next hit... mid-May ?

83 gross, 75 nett.
12 fairways
15 GIR
44 putts!

78 - 36 points at bankstown yesterday

irons were magic, 14 greens i think, a few doubles hurt me and didnt make a birdie putt. had 4 within 8 ft, ah well.

New driver on the way (got it cheap so meh) will see how that goes. On paper it sounds like a good combo for me.

AM - 2nd round of Club Champs at Caboolture 83/70 42-41
PM - 2nd round of Woodford Cup 86/73 43-43. 2 triple bogeys on par 3s and 1 double bogey helped ruin what was actually not a bad round.

Very tired feet (and rest of me) at the moment.

72 holes of golf - 7 over hcp for the weekend.

Played 1st round of the Braiswick Matchplay (mixed) at Middle Ridge. Didn't play great but managed to plug away at it. I was lucky not to be 3 down early. Somehow i managed to turn 2 up and won 5/3. First time ever leading from the front. If the other guy didn't putt like a gump i would of been steam rolled. He regularly 3-putted for bogey (1 was even a 4 putt).

25/4/08 - Middle Ridge - Single Stab
-----------------------------------
Played pretty crap for 29 points. Had 16 on the front and just couldn't get it together on the back nine. Bugger. Handicap back out to 12 (11.5). Didn't keep stats but i don't think there was any one thing wrong.

27/4/08 - Middle Ridge - Single Stab
-----------------------------------
Played pretty solidly today with 38 points. Didn't keep stats cuz i was playing my 1st round in the Braiswick Matchplay. Played against a guy off 9. I won the 1st 4 holes and then squared the 5th. Won the 6th to go to 5 up then lost the 7th (he chipped in from off the green for a birdie) to go back to 4 up. Won 8 with a shot on the hole to go 5 up then he won the 9th for me to be 4 up at the turn.

We squared 10 with a pair of bogies. I won 11 and 12 to go dormie 6. We squared the 13th for me to win 6/5. Noice... i don't think he got his head in the game after i won the first 4 holes.

Anyway handicap is back down to 10.9. Yeha!

27/04/2008, Woodford Open Round 2.

8/14 effective tee-shots.
11/18 effective approaches (not a mistype).
1/5 up and down successes.
35 putts.
-----------
1 birdie.
10 pars.
5 bogeys.
2 others.
Score (B9 1st) 43-39-82 nett 71 (Par 36-36-72 CCR 69?)

Finally some "success". Sure the score isn't that flash, but if it wasn't for two POS ****ed up ****y holes (2 bunkers = 2 triple bogeys), then it would look a lot better. On the positive side, I didn't let those bad holes (our 7th and 8th) affect the rest of my game (although I made sure I avoided more traps).

I wouldn't exactly say the irons are on fire, but they are actually going straight for a change. Hellelujah! I've been pushing them right for 6 months, so I'm hoping they stay straight, and I can start scoring again. I think I've lost 5 or so metres in distance though.

Putting was better today, in particular the stroke, but I still struggled to read the Woodford greens. The subtle breaks get me.

I'm very happy with this round overall.

Next round: 9/5, Courty Classic ;) aka Dingo Hill at Gailes.

Just one of those days when my mind wasn't with it even before I got to the course. But I don't get to play often enough so out I went.

Finished with 35 points which wasn't poor and considering that the greens have just been cored it's not a bad result.

Out - 18 points - 2 1 x pointers
In - 17 points - which included 5 x 1 pointers (f%^k it), highlight for the day was a cracking drive on index #1 -14th hole - 413 mtr Par 4, drive must have nudged 300mtrs as I had a PW in; which I put to 5 foot and then dropped the birdie putt = 3 for 4. :)

Out .1
