View Full Version : Is it too early?

To be thinking about the pre and post champs rounds for us travellers?

I didn't plan things as well as I might have last year and ended up paying to much for a car I barely used. So this year I will be coming up Friday morning and going back Monday night.

So where are we gunna go Friday arvo? and Monday morning(ish).

The Friday choice is probably most important as that will determine which airport I fly into.

Am I gunna hit up the Nudgee members? or can someone offer somewhere new to try?

Robina & Coolangatta-Tweed are good options close to GC airport.

Nudgee is obviously very close to Brisbane airport.

Brookwater is close-ish to Kooralbyn.

Robina is worth a hit. I enjoyed it and would like to play there again.

I assume 2008 unless something is sorted already.

Hmm..

Perhaps Robina on the way in and Coolangatta on the way out (or vice versa).

Chances are you can bugger off the car too bruce - wouldn't imagine there'd be a shortage of lifts to and from golf at that time of year.

And NO it is not too early to start organising pre and post venues as i left it too late last year and could only do the pre game :( This year i'd like to attend both if possible whilst there are plenty of ozgolfers about.

I'll be keen for a hit somewhere on the Friday. My preference is somewhere close to Brisbane, not the GC.

Monday is unlikely though.

That Friday [Nov 7] is the day before the Medal of Medal Winners round at Keperra so the course should be set up A1 - it's not near the airport [30 mins] but worth the trip - members guest rate is $25.............can look into it if anyone interested.........

BrisVegas. Who is also the defending Champ in Qld OZgolf Matchplay, Player of the Year, and the Going to Bed the Earliest titles.

Have a squizz through the 2007 threads to see how it all went down mate.

I'll give you a briefing if we can ever get on the course together.

Alright then Swanny and I have booked out flights.

Up Friday morning and back Monday night via Coolangatta airport.

We'll be up around 8AM on the Friday so we'll be looking for a mid-morning slot somewhere on the coast.

As Bruce has said we will be up Friday Morning @ around 0800.

As we are hiring a car I thought we could play somewhere in or around Brisbane on the Friday as long as we have enough time to travel so i would suggest from 1100am onwards and the Gold coast on the Monday with an early tee time.

I am sure Bruce and i would love to have as many Ozgolfers join us as possible I would really like to play Brookwater but i am open to suggestions as there may be other courses that suit everyones Budget.

I look forward to hearing everyones thoughts on where we should play.
