I need to do the family thing around lunchtime, so half an hour earlier would really suit ;)

Looking forward to metting you all. Hopefully i will have my new putter :) Anyone know what the fees are for visitors playing in the comp?

peter_rs
14th March 2008, 02:51 PM
$22. I think. easy $80 if you can shot net 59 for the win on the south course.

Jarro
14th March 2008, 03:57 PM
I still reckon $22 is a bit steep, even though they are now paying further down the board.

AndyP
14th March 2008, 03:58 PM
The major positive of the Nudgee Sunday open comp is the tee times available. Just about everywhere else only offers times after 11am. The open comp price certainly isn't expensive.

jaybam
14th March 2008, 04:09 PM
Nope not at all. I have no problem shelling out 22 dollars. Look at what a social round will cost you to walk on and play. And for 22 bucks you also get the chance of winning something. Have nudgee done their greens yet as it seems everyone else has done or is about to do them. Hat eplaying onn cored greens but is an evil which needs to be done. See you all there. Will try to get there early to heckle the first group ( mainly Jarro ).

Jarro
14th March 2008, 04:59 PM
The greens on the south course should be pretty good, they haven't be renoed for a while.

Eag's
14th March 2008, 05:09 PM

shazza_rs
14th March 2008, 05:19 PM
so are jarro and jaybam going to get there match out of the way????

Or is the extra 30 mins really that much better for you jarro?

Jarro
14th March 2008, 05:23 PM
The hobbit and I will be playing our matchplay at the Mcleod Cup Shazza.

I need a few more comp rounds to blow out the handicap yet ;)

And yes, the extra 30 minutes is really vital to my health and wellbeing;)

jaybam
14th March 2008, 07:31 PM
Mine too. Buggered if im going to play him on his own course. I would rather be beaten on neutral ground :) hey jarro

So just..... wanna play tomorrow.... we can play our matchplay????? Or are you another one that needs to do housework???? :)

15th March 2008, 09:50 PM
Well I do have a carpet that needs vacuuming.....

... would love to play but unfortunately I am going to a BBQ (a work thing for the wife, not that I'm pussy whipped or anything you understand) , to make up for it I'm playing twice Easter weekend.

Have a good one!

shazza_rs
15th March 2008, 10:32 PM
Oh... played on the south course today....

Course is in good nick. Greens have been aerated recently but are still pure... to be honest i didn't even notice until about the 16th hole (observant i know).

Bare patches on the fairway are considered GUR not that there is too much bare stuff. And besides you'd have to be on the fairway for that to happen

andylo
16th March 2008, 07:49 AM
Ah.. jesus... you guys can really take one thing and elaborate to miles high!!

Its really the house work. We are doing new house reno and.... thanks to the previous home who happen to be the old timers they have wallapaper thru out the house. I had almost a week off last week and I have been removing them bit by bit and thought it should be finish by Friday but the fact is it hasn't get done 2/3... need to get it finish before Tuesday before painters are come.

PeteyD
16th March 2008, 08:29 AM

goughy
16th March 2008, 09:38 AM
Actually, I'm guessing you're not steaming it off. If you'd hired a steamer for probably 60bucks for the day you'd have probably finished it that day. Makes a world of difference.

And we have done it before and the steamer is the key to it all!

16th March 2008, 09:51 AM
A steamer is not a place I'd like to put it!

11/13 Fairways
4/18 GIR

32 points for me ... 5 X 1 pointers and a wipe on 18 (hit 5 iron into the carpark)

Course was indeed in good shape ... greens were very good .... bunkers had sand in them (added bonus)

Thanks to Gaz, Rusty and Graham for an enjoyable day out :)

AndyP
16th March 2008, 04:12 PM
Well played by kpac today, and Shaz who beat me in our own match (winning the 18th for 1up).

It was great to be out there today for the first time in a while, and it was a nice relaxing round (until I 3 putted) with relatively good company. :p

Graham was on top of the leaderboard when we left the clubhouse, with kpac second.

37 pts
8 fwys
6 GIR (2.5 putts per GIR)
2/11 up & downs
26 putts.
0/2 sand
1 water.

AndyP
16th March 2008, 06:40 PM
6 GIR (2.5 putts per GIR)
2/11 up & downs
26 putts.

These stats have me baffled, Pete.

6 GIR x 2.5 putts = 15 putts.
So that leaves 11 putts for the other 12 holes, yet you only had 2/11 up and downs, so there had to be a several 2 putts in there.
36 putts maybe?

shazza_rs
16th March 2008, 06:49 PM

shazza_rs

Congrats Kent.... 42 points was good enough for 3rd in Division 1. (20 buck voucher). And welcome to a 13 handicap. :)

And Graham was good enough for a R/U in Division 2.
