If anyone wants to come down to Hobart, I can drive us to a couple of the best local courses. The two best courses are Tasmania Golf Club and Royal Hobart. They are about a 20 min drive from Hobart. Green fees are pretty cheap - I think they are around $50-60. I think members of other clubs can play for $25, although I will have to double check that.

I could also drive us up to Barnbougle - it is only a 3.5 hour drive from Hobart. I am looking forward to meeting everyone at BD.

yeah i've played Tasmania and it was quite good. A couple of the holes were a bit "Mickey Mouse" but there were some strong holes too and the site is very cool.

actually, lets lock it in for Tasmania GC. It's the more memorable of the two courses. Wife's uncle is joining us for a hit there now and hosting us at Launceston on Friday.

Rack rate is $70 at Tasmania GC, but it says in the guide that it's $45 if you have the 2008 guide.

Note if we do a group booking via go-golfing 1300 55 28 55 sharon would do a rate of $40, once everyone had rang up and paid they would fax the info to the club so there is no paper to forget.

Hi Guys

I will speak to a few people today re organising a good rate at Tasmania. If you are a member of a club, I think the rate is $25. Does anyone have a preference for carts or do they prefer walking?

I like Royal and Tasmania. Royal is flatter and is in great condition - the green are awesome. I haven't played Tassie for 6 months (I have pennant there next weekend), however it has some great holes. I am thinking about joining Royal, as my home course is in poor condition at the moment (membership at Royal and Tassie is about $1,100 p.a.).

I will let you know tonight what I can organise.

No news yet. One of the pros who works at Tasmania GC during the week works out our pro shop on the weekend. He had yesterday off.

I am going to head down to Tasmania for nine holes this afternoon, as we get to play the opposition pennant team's course for free the week before the match.

I have heard that Tassie was using preferred lies a couple of weeks ago, so I am not sure about the condition of the course.

I just played Tasmania Golf Course in pennant. They are playing preferred lies on the fairways, as they are quite patchy. The greens are running nice and smooth, however they weren't very quick. It is a pity I got beaten 5&4, despite being level par!

the d2 dion used worked well.

Course had great greens. There were a few hazards in the 100+ trees down, the staff had most of it cleared up by the end of the round.

Nice to meet braddles, what a flusher! Nudgee's clubs were lost by Qantas, but thankfully braddles had some spare sticks which he kindly loaned to the big spaniard. Fastest greens I've played in some time.
