Was up in Ipswich over the Xmas break and played there a couple of times, not a bad track at a good price.
From my understanding the front 9 is going, making way for a housing development and a new 9 is being built under the guidance of Wayne Grady.
Constructing on the new holes appear well underway.

I always thought the front 9 was the better of the two.

Anyone got further info/details on all this?

Brookwater is easily the best golf course in Ipswich!

Is there a rule against using the same photo several times?

Deano, when poidda and I played Ipswich a couple of months ago, it was a dustbowl with preferred lies everywhere. I didn't know anything about a new 9, and didn't see any works around the place.

there is definately a new 9 going in, not sure which one is being replaced, or even if a specific 9 is being replaced, but rather a group of 9 holes from both front and back.

Don't you mean compulsory tee up? I wont be going back for a long time.

Wow,what a difference a little rain makes, the course was in great nic over xmas.
New holes - instead of turning left into the carpark, just continue straight ahead and you can't miss it all.Even noticed some new bunkers being layed out along near the fence line.

Played there yesterday and course has bounced back well from when i played the ipswich open late last year which was tee up all around. After all this good rain is now only prefered lies. Greens were a bit patchy but rolled pretty well. The new nine is well under way you can see it from the tenth and is on the right hand side on the 10th hole. Looks interesting .
