Anyone know of a good place holiday house in the Mornington Peninsula area? A bunch of my mates are organising a trip in November and keen to rent a big house for a few days.

If you do it around the time of the champs then FG's might be empty for a few days ;)

How many of you are going and how big a house are you looking for?

There'll be about 8 of us. House needs to be big and comfortable. Pool table would be a great bonus! :)

Anyone wanted to let Poidda and/or his mates in their house for a week must have rocks in their head. They make schoolies week look like a girl guides camp.

No idea. We're just starting to look, and none of us know the area. Anywhere you can recommend?

EDIT: We're looking for somewhere with a decent pub! :)

You should be able to get rooms at a pub. Might be an option.

Sorrento is by far your best option. Probably a bit dearer but well worth it. Good pubs - 2 at Sorrento and then one at Portsea. Blairgowrie is Ok as is Rye. Rosebud is full of old people - like Johnny and me!!!!

rok & I stayed at the Blairgowrie Boathouse and also the flash hotel/motel at Rye. Both good. The boathouse folks will also organise golf for you too.

About how long is the drive from Melbourne to Sorento on a Sunday?

I'd allow at least 1 hour 40 mins. Could be a bit quicker if Eastlink ( new freeway) is open by then.
