I'm feeling a little hurt by Vegas pulling the pin on us, then signing up for a round at Brooky on Saturday. :(

:?: Moocow, does this mean your filming will be on the Saturday or the following weekend?

I'm feeling a little hurt by Vegas pulling the pin on us, then signing up for a round at Brooky on Saturday. :(

I pulled the pin early and for good reason. There's no way I could see myself playing given how bad my back was early last week. I had a similar injury (herniated disk) last year and I was out of golf for 4-5 months. I was fearful of a similar fate when it went out last Sunday.

Nudgee pounced on my vacant spot straight away anyway, so it was clear there was plenty of demand. I certainly didn't want to leave it til the last minute to bail out. That would have been very rude to damoocow.

Lucky for me, the physio has done the trick and I am quite mobile again. I'll be right for next Saturday.

Anyway, you've got 4 players. Have a great day!

We've survived a couple of trips to Toowoomba, so I think we'll be right.

Good to hear the physio has got the back working again, Vegas. 8)
If there is any twinging pain at all, let Blakey know, so he can adjust the Champs odds accordingly.

A very enjoyable round today with APHolden / Nudgee and Iain - weather was pretty good [a few very light showers ] course was dry but in reasonable nick - I really enjoyed the greens - played well myself - had a 45 / 43 for a 63 after h/cap [-9] could be a show for a win - looks like it will be a countback maybe - will check the paper tomorrow - played just consistent golf - nothing fancy , just did not have my usual 2 disaster holes [the 8 and 9 did not materialise on the card] - expect the h/cap will take a battering just in time for the champs ! -I'll let the other guys blow their own trumpets ! [also enjoyed the very reserved sledging today !]

Iain

Played well today, I had a 39/45=84 for a nett 68. 8) Hit some nice drives, even out driving Nudgee a couple of times  Just need to get more height on the r7 to get a bit more distance....

Andippy tried to put me off after 9, by announcing that I had a 39 on the front, but it didn't work and I shot my normal 45 after a good front nine....

Damo was his usual good natured self, sledging just about everything Andippy had to say..... :P

Don't worry Golfer, the sledging was a bit slow to start off, but we got into it by the end. I even managed to sledge Jarro!!!!!

Nudgee, realised after a front 9 39 that his handicap was in trouble of going south and procceded to pull hook a couple into the tree's and then doing some bad acting at being upset about it.....

Overall I had an excellent day.

a few things -
Iain did not have much time for sledging really - too busy rabbiting on about equipment and some spine alignment mullarky with nudgee.
AP asked for it really [sledging that is !] with his constant gay tennis references!
Nudgee is very poor at acting like he didn't mean to hit a bad shot to protect his handicap ! - didn't help really - he had a -3 .
damo is an enigma , and he would like to credit the sausage roll at the halfway house for his return to form.
69 - your support for emerging talent is graciously accepted ! - but I do need to point out I do not own any leotards [only leg warmers]

Guys I am offended - trying to say that I actually meant to hook those two drives to protect my handicap!!

I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed the day today - great weather for it and the course was in good condition. had a great tussle with Iain all round for long drives - Iain my friend if you could only increase your trajectory you would be kicking my ass every drive!! You are already scary long with the irons and if I ever hear you wanting to get rid of them again I am going to "spine" you.

Andy proved to be my lucky charm again and looked liked he was going to repeat another Mcleod!! Damo as always had a steady great round - dam best 25 h'cap swing I have ever seen - very steady golf - mate you wont be long in the twenties.

As for me I had a gross 80 (3 under my handicap  ) with a lot of putts just touching the cup and even had a full 180 * lip out!! Driver behaved very well except on the 2 drives that I hooked. Highlight would have to be the 340m drive down the 9th (helped by the slope) and the 290m drive into the wind.

All i can say is bring on the champs

Very enjoyable round. As discussed in the clubhouse afterwards, it never really felt like a comp round.
Sledging wasn't too heavy, but was always lingering.

Unfortunately, my score looks pretty dismal compared to the other lads, but I enjoyed sitting back and watching them destroy their handicaps before the Champs.

I had a 43-48-91 (78 ). I actually played pretty well, but when you hit 0/13 fairways, with 4 penalties, your scorecard tends to suffer. Was happy to have 2 birdies for the day though.

Sorry I missed seeing where your 340m drive landed, nudgee. I enjoyed watching the shot, but was too busy tussling with the OOB fence to see the result.

What's this about thanking the sausage roll, damo? You were blaming it for your wayward drive on the 10th.

damo was trying not to draw any attention to how well he was playing during the round, and put all the focus on Iain. Seemed to work well.
It's just a damn shame that damo can't take the 6 points for the Player of the Year, due to his ineligibility (no OZgolf shirt).

:?: Anyone got access to todays paper to see if damo won?

Thanks again for the day, guys.

Yes, he got up on a countback.
Big congrats. =D>
Excellent. \:D/
I thought he might be a good chance on a countback, because his back nine was stronger.

Well played, damo. =D>

Thanks Nudgee, I'll keep that warning in mind.. It was an eye opener to be right up there with you for most of the day (and ahead of you a couple of times  ) I'll be working hard on that trajectory. 8)

whoo hoo !! - going over to Keperra tomorrow arvo and see what I get - prob a pro shop voucher I guess ? - now -9 I suppose will take at least 4 shots off my handicap, mmmm I wonder how long it will take for that card to get processed and through to golflink ? - this might be a good time for a long and ugly Australia Post strike.

Sorry Eag's. You can't hand over the burglar cap once his handicap is already shot.
Or do you actually play the bugle? :?

I suppose will take at least 4 shots off my handicap
Depending on how hard the course played yesterday (CCR), I think you will lose between 2.8 and 4.0.
I am surprised the results aren't in GolfLink already.
Does anyone have any history with Keperra's card processing?
