Burger.

I'm a definite. Please remove the question mark from my name in your list.

I haven't played Castle Hill for about 15 years. I look forward to recreating Paul Gow's 60 (or at least the missing of a historic putt at the 18th when a mobile rang as he was putting for the 59).

Guys

Have only just seen this thread hence had not replied.

We are in on two conditions. Firstly someone tell us what time tee off is? Secondly Jono being the Nickent driver!

It is Burger's job to post the scores, but I can reveal that Mrs Miro was the only happy player at the end.

The course was in excellent condition, and I quite enjoyed it, although many of the greens suit the sort of high, soft and accurate approach shot style of target golf that I don't really play, even when striking the ball well.

It was good to see Burger and the Miro's again. We don't see them often enough on OzGolf days.

Thanks for the game guys. Great fun. 8)

It was a little bit too hot for me and even with the cart, I was pretty buggered by the back nine.

In our group, I think the scores were something like this.

Mrs Miro 35 points
Miro 30 points
Zipptop 28 points
Jono 21 points

We had a 5-5-5 bet going and the Miros cleaned up. Well, Mrs Miro cleaned up. ;)

I think I might stop playing for money until I can play somewhere near my handicap.

Well, had I remembered I needed to post our scores I would not have trusted my memory . . . . especially with the heat of the day!

So here it is as well as I can recall

Paul 33pts
Burger 28pts
Jim 26pts
Michael 21pts

2BB
Paul & burger 40pts
Jim & Michael ?? sorry cant remember this one.

Paul rang the club and apparantly the guy who won shot -1 off the stick and the winning 2BB score was 49.

Thanks everyone for the game, I REALLY enjoyed both the course and company. As for my game, well I guess I am glad it was last year cos my aim for this year is to concentrate better and be more consistent . . .
and yesterday, as usual, my scores were equally loaded with 3 & 4 pointers and wipes.

Took a bit of adjusting as to how much quicker the putting green was compared to those on course!

Having played with Jim several times I think it was fair to say I have seen him have better days. . . tho still more than a few excellent shots!

Paul (off 14) was pretty solid all day.

I thought I had played better than 28 however upon reflection it was pretty accurate for my (lack of) consistency.

Michael suffered (I think) from the heat and walking distance in long pants, going back to the BIG  slice I thought he had gotten rid of.

Thanks again to all for a great day :smt038 and look forward to attending many more Ozgolf events this year.

Stu. :)

Berger

Thanks for the day and thanks to Jono and Geoff for adding to the family bank account!! Ok that had little to do with my play. I started and finished with double bogeys on par fives but other than that played ok, double bogeyed one other par five just for consistency. Lost four balls and had thirty points.

Mrs miro cleaned up with another solid round.

Jono and I agreed if we could use his drives and my approach shots we would have done ok but alas this appears illegal in this form of the game.

Thanks all for the game. We had a great day.

Finally castle hill is not a bad track. Probably to many steeply uphill holes to ever be considered much better than that.

So, was the Nickent sold or did Jono resent being hit all the time ???

miro
1st January 2008, 06:12 PM
Only hit about ten balls at the range before tee off. Hit about two hooks, five straight, two blocks and one slice. But it felt good. I suspect the major issue was the shaft length which may be suitable for long drive comps but is too long for me.
