As the title says.

This driver is 2 range sessions (each time about 20 hits) and one round old. Can I say "mint"?

What can I say? It went straight and long at the range. I hooked the living daylights out of it on the course. I just couldn't get comfortable with it. By the 16 hole, I was wishing I had my Aurora with me.

I might have just had a crap driving day, but I feel more comfortable with the Aurora and I like the deeper face and more compact head design. So I'm going back to my trusty Aurora/NV combo and will put the Nickent up for sale (before 3oneday does. )

Oh, the price. $250 shipped. (retails at Powergolf for $399, I think).

Price drop: $235 posted.

Another price drop: $220 posted.

Richard,

If you hurry and get your Nickent now, we'll have a foursome of Nickents at Dunheved. 8)

For you, may I suggest the Draw model, 9 degrees with stock stiff shaft. ;)
mmmmmmm........ maybe not hey Jono.

Seriously good price by the way, considering the centre is untouched ;)

Mmm if this is the Tour head (T spec?) I saw it at the shop on the weekend. I thought it looked brilliant. Dead square dead, looked almost like an updated 510TP, didn't look 460cc at all. Can't believe if we are talking the same thing that you hooked it. Looked like an updated 975J at a bigger size also.

$250 sounds like a steal.

TS, no mate, mine is in the bag. I butt trimmed it to 45" and thickened up the grip.

As for what Miro said, I actually put it next to a mates 360CC driver and it didn't look too different at all. I think peter_rs said the T and the D are the same heads, just with different weight configs inside, much like the Ft-5 etc !! I'd say the one I have sits open, and it's the Draw version 8)

Get stuck in Miro, it feels great as well !

On behalf of Jono (for the Peter_rs question) his is the stock shaft.

3oneday the 4dx has two stock shafts a UST SR3 or V2 stock... so I guess you mean the SR3.

I believe that is right about the weights.

Anyone seen the SE model yet?

Miro, mine is the T spec which I guess stands for "tour". It seems to sit a degree or so open. Pear shaped ... it reminded me of the old Titty drivers (975 series). Sound is pretty solid too.

Hmmm ... I'm getting tempted to buy this back off me ...

One more round Jono, tighter fairways might calm the beast within... or the geriatric as Tony might say

Well, after taking the Aurora out today at Dunheved, I'm now convinced that the Aurora and I are inseparable. We were made for each other ... :smt060

Anyway, the Nickent has to go ... before I start reshafting it and doing silly things.

Yet another price drop. $220 posted anywhere in Oz. If I can't sell it for this price, then off to ebay she goes ... 8)

not everyone shops in the USA though ;)

Even on US ebay, they are going for US$190-$200 new.

example (http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-NICKENT-4DX-DRIVER-TOUR-SPEC-10-5-SR-3-GRAPH-REG_W0QQitemZ370006741478QQihZ024QQcategoryZ115280 QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

This guy charges US$70 shipping fee to Australia, so you are looking at $300 aussie dollars delivered.

Oh, and there's always the chance that it may never get delivered ... :smt013 :smt093

Miro. I find the stock Nickent shaft has a softer feeling than the V2.

Miro, feels fine, no where near as stiff or boardy as an NV or VS proto.

I am still in the testing phase myself -however first round last weekend lead to a single solitary fairway being hit. Now the good news is that is the same result as the prior week with my 510TP. So I am not giving up just yet.

Let me use it a round or so more and then we will see.

But it was in your bag when you had a hole-in-one. If you get another one next game, people will be firing in offers from everywhere.
