Is this one the same shaft that Iain has in his Superquad? That was a pretty smooth feeling shaft.

jarro - that v2 in your current driver is probably just as stiff.

wouldn't be far off - nowhere near as smooth though ;)

Courty
10th December 2007, 04:45 PM
Yeah. I got an x-flex V2 in my Superquad, but the Diamana in Iain's felt a lot smoother, and a bit softer as well. Damn it, it's got me thinking.

If the NV is smooth the Diamana is velvety

I hit this shaft and it feels to me somewhere between stiff and X-stiff. I had no trouble loading it and I'm only probably swinging just above 100 mph at the moment.

I'm with you there Moe. I've only had it since the Champs weekend, so I wanted to give it a few rounds before I made a decision. I must say, I'm not that fussed really. The x-stiff Aldila One in my old 510TP is a much smoother shaft, so I think I may soon be looking for something more like it to replace the V2.

Yeah, thats the one. I believe it's tipped 1", but as the diamana's are very smooth shaft, it doesn't feel as stiff as it plays...

I shouldn't have bought that other burner ... How does the shaft compare to a VS Proto stiff (i have difficulty with the VS proto in the 907)

Sell it to Perci and buy the TP:)
On a serious note the Diamana is very close to a VS proto stiff - maybe a hair stiffer but not much in it.

Jeez guys, I know it is Xmas and all and budgets may be tight but I cannot comprehend why someone has not bought this driver

This has to be the best driver head on the market at the moment. For me the Burner TP is the longest I have hit but has super forgiveness and a sweet feel. It has been quite a while since the same driver has stayed in my bag for this long (pre knowing Mr 3oneday  ) and that is saying something.

I would doubt whether it has hit 20 balls and has a quality shaft. Why all the uncertainty.

Someone buy it and put the big guy out of his misery :smt023

If it is still here on Sunday and my auctions that end on Saturday get enough I'll probably buy it.

Why don't you buy the head as a backup for a bargain price of $250 and Courty or I can buy the shaft? 8-)

Question for the experts... Would the diamana shaft out of the Burner be long enough to fit a bore through D2? i'd like to try a Diamana, but I would want the length to be at least 44.5"

I realise Courty & Jono already have dibs on it.

You would have to blind bore the head mate. If fully inserted it would be too stiff and probably too short.

Rick, how does the Diamana compare to the GD you stuck in the burner for me?

rick3003

Rick, how does the Diamana compare to the GD you stuck in the burner for me?
The GD felt a little loose to be honest. Not a bad shaft but a little on the soft side. The Diamana is stiffer but still feels good. Perfect for a s/s of around 105 IMO. I have played plenty of Diamanas and it is the one shaft I can play in S or X and not be bothered.
I have a Blueboard 83x in my exotics 3 wood at the moment and it is pure.
I have yet to meet a player that hasn't enjoyed hitting with a Diamana blueboard.
