For those that remember the short session Doug Kercher gave us in Brisbane that night, and for those who heard about it, might like to hear more wisdom from the man, who is the undisputed OZgolf Pro.
ok so he hasnt subscribed yet - :-)

Confident Golf Home Page (http://members.myco.com.au/confidentgolf/index.html)

If you didnt know Doug has recently moved from Melbourne to the Gold Coast and is teaching at Royal Pines. (Onewood has been sneaking down there for lessons too)

The guy has some great methods and I think that he deserves some support from us blokes after he gave us some free time, and truly there are none here that dont need any help, especially me.

How about we organise a major driving range event, and get him to come along. The normal rate for a Pro at a clinic is at least $100(?) an hour. Now if we can get 10 of us to throw in say $10-20 each then thats gunna get us a a decent piece of his time.

Who is in?
Me.

Great idea mtb. Unfortunately I couldn't guarantee I could make such an event, but he's welcome here and I'm sure he will find plenty of support here as well. And I'm sure there are plenty of brissie boys that would be interested. One thing I know is that the brissie boys aren't afraid to give something a go.

If Doug comes to Oxley, I'd be interested...

you guys probably know this already, but MacLeod is back in Oz on the 21st, and I reckon he'd be keen to join in too. I sent him an email and gave him the ozgolf info. He was posting on the other forum looking for a game at Gailes on Sunday 23rd May...

Ok Goughy i will ask him what he thinks about a road trip to Toowoomba, I got to go past Gatton a few times during June anyway - my folks bought the Grantham Hotel.

Golfer69, well the guy lives here so maybe you will be in luck.

I am sure Onewood + 2 will also be interested so I will let him know there is some interest here.

The date is confirmed. June 3rd at Carbrook Driving Range 5.30pm, coinciding with Terry's Launch Monitor session and Nudgees car boot sale.

Please also check this forum for updates;

In case we forget Doug's living is teaching golf, socialising is fun but the bills still need to be paid. For at least 2 hours of coaching for the group is $15 per head. Minimum price for any Pro is $100ph so this is a steal, without even considering the travel time as well as the free lessons he gave at the last one.

About 10 people so far have confirmed. Unless otherwise mentioned i will let him know that stands as the minimum.

(Not trying to steal Terry's thunder here, but I expect that most people are not going to get more more than 10 mins on the launch monitor, if everyone has a crack at it - so there remains plenty of time for coaching)

Doug gives a moneyback guarantee for his lessons, so what have you got to lose? http://members.myco.com.au/confidentgolf/about.html

Don't need to tell this group mtb. Unlike some southerners these guys know and appreciate the value of a coaching session and wouldn't stoop to expecting freebies (which some southeners wouldn't even accept either).

How is doug enjoying it up here anyway? Better than down south?

Isnt Carbrook and Oxley near enough to be the same place?

Yes i meant Oxley, no idea where Carbrook came from.

and as already mentioned elsewhere Doug is not coming to Oxley, we will look at a date in the future, maybe June 14th to coincide with our next Ozgolfcoast day.

Yeah, only about 30-40 minutes drive apart, close enough.

Perhaps you were thinking of Corinda.
