My first time starting one of these... played NSW today in reasonably benign conditions. We played an Irish stableford and managed a third placing with 116pts for our 4 ball (119pts won it).

We combined really well as a team with one player getting 41 points (off 5 handicap - 3 under off the stick with 3 to play, bogey, bogey, bogey finish, his only bogies on the day).

I managed 29 points as an individual and had a fit around 12-16 with only 2 points scored.

Stats as follows...

8/14 fairways
7/18 GIR
34 putts (1 x 3 putt)
1/5 U&D
2 birds
5 pars
5 bogies
6 double and above :(

My tee shots were either awesome or put me in trouble, it was a mix of really good golf and some scratchy stuff.

Stableford yesterday for a wanky 34 points. Guess who hasn't been practising putting.:shock: Highlight was a birdie for 4 points on a par 3 that I usually stuff up.;)

New Record for me, 2 full weeks of no golf.
Only time in the recent past I stopped playing for this long was January 2006. Had a decent excuse that time;), even then I only stopped playing for 16 days I think. Not sure of next game, could be the 17th Dec at the QF Engineering Club Xmas day. No real urge to play before then. Is an ambrose day so wont be a real game anyway. Might have to wait until next year for my next real game:shock:

So you're reporting in "How did you play this week" that you didn't play....:shock: :roll:

Played Brooky today, 29 (12 + 17) points, but certainly didn't feel like I played as bad as the score shows. Some good ball striking, couple of ordinary 3 putts...

Think I'm going to have to start keeping some stats...

27 points around brooky. Rather inconsistant but pretty happy with how I went. Few nasty situations like pluggin in bunker faces etc, but played some nice shots.

Fun hole of the day was parring 17 after hitting a tree with my drive and having the ball drop onto the ladies tee :oops:

27 pts (4 wipes :smt087 ) around Brooky today with some terrible driving but the short game was very pleasing. Not sure whats going on with my long game & iron play lately, hitting very few greens and having to scramble a lot.

31 points today. Often I am very disappointed with a 31 point round, but today I hit the ball reasonably well. Every time I didn't hit a good one I hit it into trouble. 4 double bogies in a five hole stretch, but I really only hit two bad shots in that run (and a few bad chips and putts).

Fairways = 6 of 14
Greens in Reg = 5 of 18
Putts = 33, 1 3putt, zero birdies
Up&Down = 2 of 9
Sand Saves = 2 of 3
1 penalty shot.

Come on it wouldn't be right if grunt didn't have at least two posts in each "What did you shoot this week?", only 1 to go now ;)

We're just jealous grunt... although today was my fourth time out in the past 8 days :D time for a break though.

I played Woolooware on Saturday, Dissapointing front nine with alot of poor tee shots. Played very inconsistantly off the tee meaning most of my second shots were getting out of trouble (including 2 shots hard up behind trees). Short Irons were the high point as well as putting on the back 9. But had no confidence addressing the ball with a wood.

Par 70. Out-35, In-35
Stroke 95. Front-53, Back-42
Fairways = 0 of 13 (neighbouring fairways = 7 of 13)
Greens in Reg = 5 of 18
Putts = 38, 3 x 3putt, 1 x 4putt, 2 birdies
Sand Saves = 2 of 2
3 penalty shots.

Birdies = 2
Pars = 3
Bogies = 5
Doubles = 5
Others = 3 (11 being the killer)

Cheers
Simon

02/12/2007, Brookwater GC, Stableford

9/14 effective tee-shots.
4/18 effective approaches.
5/10 up and down successes.
0/3 sand saves.
32 putts.
-----------------
7 pars.
6 bogeys.
5 others.

Score stab 12-17-29pts (H/C: 10) (CCR 72)

I started hitting the ball well, but wasted a few opportunities to score on the greens (similar to last week).
Then I played pretty crap for a few holes.
Then I scrambled well to score on the back nine, with a couple of hiccups.

The Pings are starting to feel better, but it's hard to tell sometimes, because the shot is so woeful (quite a few fat shots yesterday).

I knew if I didn't hit the greens at Brooky it was going to be hard work, and it was. It would have been better if some of those putts dropped in the hole instead of skimming past too.

Next round: Off to Toowoomba's City GC next Sunday (9/12).

38pts on Saturday including 6 x 1 pointers.... what could have been eh?

Single Stab at Brookwater yesterday. Very long day. I got there at 6:30, didn't tee off til 7:45 and we didn't get done til 12:30. I think I lost the plot at about the 3 hour mark (on the 11th) with a 3putt and stopped concentrating. Hit the ball well off the tee. Irons were ok, chipping was very bad and putting was worse, ie. made nothing.

28 (18+10) points (88 gross) was my worst score in a while.
11 fairways
7 GIR
36 putts

I reckon if i was allowed to go back and play the first 4 holes again (Brooky) i would've had about 36 points for the day instead of 30.

Can somebody please change the results in the Brooky thread please.

.. aslong as you play them in the right order the first time around, everything should be sweet.
