G'ay all. My name is Rob and I am a social player mainly.
I currently live on the southside of Brisbane and hope to make a couple of the games you guys organise. I can play ok, in the 80's on most courses.
What else can I say?
I have seen the What's in your bag thread and will see what I can do about posting a pic of mine shortly.
Look forward to chatting to you all.

Rob

Hi Rob, make yourself at home. Keep an eye on the first tee thread if you want to meet up with the mob.

Rob, welcome to the site. Avoid the Pro Shop area of the forum if you want to keep your What's In The Bag as it is. ;)

I used to play a bit at Nudgee, Virginia and Redcliffe, a former nothside lad. NowI play socially now and again and a few weekends away that some of my friends organise. Only played about 6 times this year :( . Would like to play more!

It sounds like you need to get yourself a $139 Robina Woods membership, and become an OZgolf round slut, like I am.

That seems very cheap. Does it give you an official handicap?

AndyP

Yes, they maintain your handicap. You are meant to play at least three there to initially set it up, but there are ways around that.
They chuck in a few discounts and a free birthday round as well.

After that you can enter any open competition at a golf club. It's a good deal and there are several OZgolfers who take advantage of it.

Thanks AndyP. I'll look into that.

just went to that site AP and had to laugh at the picture they put at the bottom of the "mega mamber" membership information page....
Have a crack at this, they're advertising the course with a picture of a bloke playing the 18th from the wrong fairway  . Probably fitting considering the majority of mega members they attract.....

?????, maybe i need to head further left next time, but i've never been that far left on the last. I thought that he was nearly on the 1st there....

heh, well i better focus on a draw next time coming down the 18th, i've never tried coming in from that angle... this could be where i've been going wrong. Not a bad hole though....

hi Rob,

Welcome to ozgolf.

I think AndyP is talking about a golfers plus membership which is also available at Logan City Golf Club which might be a bit closer to home for you. You get an Official handicap, 3 free games, discounted green fees at other courses.

I am the membership co-ordinator at LCGC so let me know if I can help you with this or anything else.

Thanks,

Martin

Welcome Rob, the blokes up there are not too bad.

Hey phoeno,
How much is that membership you mentioned? Are there any restrictions on play etc.?
I'll be looking for a new home around April. I was thinking about the mega membership again, as I like to play a variety of courses.
