Think it was mentioned in another post that the poker gear was being brought.

As long as there isn't a "must start by" requirement like last year, then consider me in.

I'll try to remember to pack my cards, which are good quality.

Should we discuss blind structure and starting chips now?

Is there any sort of rules or instructions for this.

AndyP
13th November 2007, 07:30 AM
I assume it's Texas No Limit Holdem Poker. There will be webpages galore on it.

PeteyD
13th November 2007, 10:30 AM
Maybe we can have another table for those of us who have never played it

AndyP
13th November 2007, 10:35 AM
If poidda had that sort of attitude he wouldn't be the rich man that he is today.

Yeah, there's no experience needed with these losers PeteyD.

i concur, paying third place $16 when it's $20 buy in, is a little pointless...
winner takes all - first out shouts a round for the table - and runner up gets a shot of tequila shouted by the winner. Thats our monthly format.

poidda
13th November 2007, 02:02 PM
Why the run down to 3rd place...I thought it was all about winner take all ?

Trung realises the quality of players interested, so 10% is all he's playing for.

AndyP
13th November 2007, 03:00 PM
Our home game lets the runner up get their money back and the winner takes the rest.

That's a good way to do it, unless it's a head's up game ;)

It's true.. I'm all in with pocket 7s

The rule should be set up front, any time you have pocket 5's it is mandatory to go all in ;)

AndyP
13th November 2007, 07:16 PM
Pfft, pocket 5s stink. The new gun hand is 2 4 offsuit.

If we made the entry fee $10 would we get more people interested? I'm thinking of guys like PeteyD and goughy who are newbies and hesitant.

goughy
13th November 2007, 07:30 PM
I'm not hesitant at all. $20 would be fine with me. But not everyone is gonna be playing poker, and with 50 odd people around I don't want to commit to something yet. That's all. I'd rather wing what I'm doing on the night!

Grunt
13th November 2007, 07:35 PM
I am with you on that Goughy, I may play but not sure what time it will come up.

PeteyD
13th November 2007, 07:47 PM
Nah not gonna gamble with something I don't understand. Get some old fashioned 5 card stud or manilla happening and I'll be happy.

goughy
13th November 2007, 08:02 PM
Snap or Go Fish anyone?

markTHEblake
13th November 2007, 09:32 PM
Actually I prefer to play Hearts (like on the PC), anyone up for 20c a point, and play first to 100?

poidda
13th November 2007, 10:58 PM
I'll throw my poker set in as well so we can get more than one game happening. I wont be playing until I think other think that I think 69er can't win with a pair of 5's!

You confused yet? Well wait until you try to read my poker face.;)

poidda
14th November 2007, 08:17 AM
Heres a tip....if you think poidda is bluffing cos he has bright red eyes like a road map and a real goofy look on his face..he probably is.

Shame you didn't get that tip before you played your first hand!

And I don't know why you get so much enjoyment from taking the piss out of someone's illness (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_eye_%28medicine%29)? Tosser! :smt013

AndyP

No poker table and no poker set (chips, etc), but we made do with my bed, my cards, and a shitload of coins. It wasn't overly successful, and I'm sure we can organise ourselves better next time, but it was still fun.

1. AndyP/Damo $40 each - It was really starting to drag on, with Damo making big bets and me folding my shit cards, so Damo made an offer that I accepted (I had refused it several times before, as well as refusing a $60/$20 split in my favour a few times)

3. Courty
4. Trung
I don't really recall the placings after this, but I did enjoy taking their "chips".
5. poidda
6. Billyman
7. golfer69
8. Grunt

For those that played, I think I've done enough to put the whole pair of 5s thing to rest, don't you?

AndyP
19th November 2007, 04:30 PM
Only reason I lost was I'd had a gutful.
I went all in 4 times in a row with nothing better than 2-6.
Won the first 3 too until damo worked it out.
I called your all-in the fourth time around, because I had something worth calling it with. I wasn't going to call your 2-6 with my 5-3.

Grunt
19th November 2007, 05:04 PM
I was too pissed to care and was just being part of the fun.

Who smashed the glass on the balcony?

markTHEblake

Who smashed the glass on the balcony?

Who is the drunken clown who put a glass on a walkway in a spot where another drunken but completely innocent clown would accidentally kick it.

NB: only innocent in relation to the broken glass, as for other behaviour
