For all those playing in the champs, I need golflink numbers and handicaps. On Thursday evening prior to heading out I will be updating everyones handicap based on GolfLink.

If your number is in the contact list please ensure it is up to date. Otherwise PM me your golflink number etc etc.

Ta.

Didn't he get down to 10 or 11?

Don't you need a AGU to play in the Champs :?

Mine still workin Petey

Terry.

Or have a current one to be eligible to win?

goughy
10th November 2007, 07:56 AM
Not that I've ever made it to the champs before, or really had anything much to do with them. But I don't remember an agu hc being a pre-requisite. Especially if those without have played with many of us before. Surel we can come up with something fair for them in the way of a hc.

Actually, last year it may have been needed as you played at Bribie!

AndyP

It's never happened before.

Surprisingly yes it is.

As far as this goes, I don't have a problem using his old one as long as he definately has not been playing in the meantime. If he happens to outshine everyone on the old one we may need to have a lynching ;)

Moe Norman
10th November 2007, 12:46 PM
he shouldn't be allowed to play off more than 10.

Complete lie to suggest he hasn't played at all.

OK only Golflink I am missing is Billyman. He has posted so will be eligable I guess.

And we have to resolve what to do with 990B. As there is no precident we have a problem.

peter_rs
11th November 2007, 07:54 PM
This may go for all of us (and a answer for 990B)

Just a quick question.

Since we will have a field of 40 are we going to do any oz golf hcps for sunday if poeple come in with 40+ on the sat round. So in effect a adhoc to current or old hcps.

PeteyD
11th November 2007, 07:57 PM
nah. Same handicap both days as it is a 2 day tourny

goughy
11th November 2007, 08:14 PM
The last time I played a club champs was at middle ridge over 15 years ago. They were over 4 rounds and whatever hc you started on in the 1st round is what you played off of for all rounds, even if you should have dropped 5 shots by the 4th round.

I don't know if all clubs do this, but that's what I think should happen here.

peter_rs
11th November 2007, 08:18 PM
last time i checked club champs were stroke rounds ;)

in 36 hole events i've played lately, hcps have changed between the two days.

nuf said, as long as there is no bitching when someone blitzes the field

Its the same all over, stableford, stroke, rafferties. for the daily event, yes handicaps change, for the 36 or more hole event, starting handicap applies or the total rounds.

990bluva is a burglar, everyone knows it, but that is irrelevent. The line hsa gotta be drawn somewhere, and the line we have always had is the Official Handicap system, even though we didnt realise it, thats where it was.

Start drawing grey lines and it gets messy. My 2c, no handicap, cant win (the nett).

Nothing personal!

PeteyD

I don't think we have much of an option there, unfortunately for 990B.

I think that is fair enough, especially if everyone else in the field has an up to date Hcp.

Goughy & Blake are both right. The overall event for Club Champs etc are all calculated on the handicap at the start of the tourney. Only the daily prizes work on adjusted 'caps.

Our Sat round is not in any comp is it? So, the handicaps will stay the same all weekend. Keeps it simpler at least.

Handicaps can be adjusted overnight by a special blend of psychology and extreme violence.

Possibily the fact that nobody played under thier handicaps might have had something to do with it not being talked about.

Its not a problem this year either. Someone just forgot to take their medicine again, forgot who but not Goughy surprisingly enough.

So you guys want it all for yourselves, how about make any non Qlders ineligible as well.
Why all the talk this year of limitations of who can and can't play. I thought it was more a social event than the golf. Next thing there will be guys not socialising and just taking it all too seriously.

PeteyD
12th November 2007, 02:42 PM

Don't need to. Non-Qlders are no chance.

Why all the talk this year of limitations of who can and can't play. What Petey said, plus there has to be limitations on who can win (not play). I for one, would hate to have someone win that never posts on the forum. If they win, we should be hearing about it from them for the next year.

You make some good points Grunt. Lets implement them :)

I am thinking that we should limit it to SE Queenslanders with a handicap between 8 and 11 are the only ones eligible

because you were being serious, then you throw it in reverse and pretend you weren't.

AndyP

Agreed. The post above can only be taken as serious. The first sentence could be taken as a joke in isolation, but the follow up sentences make is serious.

Sadly the old man traded the GTP :( He loved it but got sick of the ride and the fact that in another 5000kms he had to spend 4K on the brakes(after only 20,000 kms mind you), apparently thats standard for brembos

I have a hire car + extra insurance = ;)
