Has any one else found the new Pro V1X to spin a lot more than the old ones? Our greens are quite soft and have been backing the ball up heaps with the latest pills.
Any suggestions on top end balls that spin a bit less?

Taylor Mde TP blacks are a good alternative... think they're the Prov1x type ball, so you could try the TP red

Try and find some of the 06 V1X Glen. A few low markers I know swear the new model is shorter too.

The HX Tour might be worth a try.

Haven't tried the red, but love the TP blacks.

I read in a magazine test that the TP red spins the most off wedge shots of any high end premium ball

So the TP black is the lower spinning? I have hit the red and quite liked it.

I thought the red was the harder less spinning of the two. I may be wrong though.

Yeah Rick, I can't make much sense of the explanation on their website.

I really like the Nike Platinums and I have used the blacks before as well.
The Platinums will stop on a dime, sometimes just a bit to quick

Has anyone mentioned Bridgestone E5 yet?

(He started it).

I thought that the new model of ProV1/x had less spin for ball flight but that did not affect its 'checking' ability on the greens

friend bought me back a box of HX Tours from china the other day......... Love these balls.
Except...........the dimples are round, the outerskin is rock hard, and the logo can be rubbed off with your finger.... sound a little 'clicky' off the club face too.

What a top bloke hey

sad part was he thought they were legit, as soon as i found out where they came from i was suspicious, and when i saw one ...
Mind you, you have to hand it to the people that make these, their accuracy in the box was brilliant!! absolutely perfect copy except for the folding (i just had to compare :)) As for the balls, well no wonder they sell them to you in a box!

I've got a mate who wanted to know what clubs are good. He was brimming with excitement, because when I told him some brands/models he said he could get them for $300 - a full set!! Of course, he meant from China.

I said if he had $300 I'd take him shopping on OzGolf, and he got much less keen. It was almost like he was willing to buy the counterfeits, no matter what the price, but reluctant to get the real deal??!!

I've also heard that clubs coming back from Asia that are brand-new looking won't make it through customs, I guess you need some sort of invoice/receipt with it?!
