I guess the burning question is will Tiger turn up?

If he does, it's not going to be worth going unless you stay well away from where he is. The maddening crowds etc.

But then you'd want to go to see him play...

They have a lot of work to do between now and 2011 to bring the course conditions up to scratch. It is a bit of a mess down there at the moment.

They're rebuilding the course in the USA that Tiger won round 2 of the Fedex playoffs on (I think it was round 2), with the plan that they start playing PGA events again in 2 years there.

Surely 4 years down the track Royal Melb should be acceptable ?

I might be able to put up a visitor or two.

They have a lot of work to do between now and 2011 to bring the course conditions up to scratch. It is a bit of a mess down there at the moment.

They'll get exemptions from water restrictions now and some Govt. kick-ins from the "major events" pool.

Will this give them more opportunities to **** it up? Will they decide that "Tiger is coming so we have to make our par 5s 600m to protect the course". They probably have the room to do it too if they carve up the place up for the composite course. I will watch with interest.

Matchplay format with all the combinations of games might stop that happening Bruce. Toughening it up I mean. Todays course did not look stupidly long and they all seemed to try and stuff up the last.

Here's who played back in 1998, not a bad USA team at that time.

I could not care one way or the other whether Tiger plays, I will still go and watch the players from both teams who are prepared to put their game on show whilst Tiger stays at home counting his squillions.

I am with you, raidrboy.... if he comes, he comes. It will make no difference to my decision to go and watch.

Random bet: I'd put $5 on Jason Day being in the team in 2011. What do you say?

why on earth would anyone think Woods might not come. He has played in every one of them so far.
