As the Doc has posted earlier he has been practising out at Camden lakeside which coincidentally was where the wife and I had decided to play last Saturday. So who was at the range, yep Jono.

He gave me a look and then a hit of the almost legendary Aurora driver with added foam.

I can genuinely say that thing is fantastic. Setup very nicely, great noise (reminiscent of the old Titty 975J thwack) and fantastic ball flight. No idea about length but it certainly looked like they were getting out there.

Very impressive.

He certainly has been talking up this driver.

Let's see how it goes in the heat of battle though

Will foaming heads become the next Ho trend?

I can confirm that I borrowed an Aurora from Jono (no foam treatment) and when hit in the middle it just went, wasn't the easiest to work for me and not the most forgiving but centre hits felt up there (maybe even better) with any other driver I've hit.

yeah, I've hit one of em. They go alright when you find the sweet spot. But then, so did the 975D, 983K, TM300, Great Big Bertha etc... Hackers like me need more forgiveness.

Sounds like this club might be a lot like the trusty old TM510TP TOUR ;)

Jono dead set smashes that driver. When Jono/Trung/69 and myself played with him at Bonnie Doon we were lucky to get anywhere near him. Big, high, long thwacks. I'd love to see him play on a course where you get some run on the fairways!

He also had some shaft that resembled Luke's light-sabre in the infamous battle in Cloud City.

I tried Jono's aurora and limey combo last time he was up. It was ok but nothing special. the ft3 I had at the time was 20m longer on the same hole (with the smae ball).

ps. I like limey shafts so it was the head.
