Shutter speed is more important than frame rate in regards to picking up the hands and club...see if you can set the shutter speed on your camera to something quicker than 1/1000 and see how you go

Yeah, good looking swing. The camera angle is a bit off though ... Makes you look like you are swinging inside out with a closed stance.

Let me get this right. You buy a $200 camera and you still can't figure out how to use high shutter speed so you can see your hands and the club during the swing?

Ducky
9th July 2007, 02:31 PM
I wouldn't have been so upset if it was a $200 camera, but considering it was $2000 I am a little disappointed that I am unable to manually adjust the shutter speed.

I didn't download your whole resume but just looked at the first vid you put up. I see quite a bit of the old me in your swing, very classical and 'old school'.

Do you tend to have most of your misses as straight misses (i.e. push/pull) rather than slice/hook? I assume so.

The big thing I noticed, which is really hard to tell from down the line, is that your hips appeared to 'finish' the swing too early and get through before your hands (typically a big open face push with inactive hands), I had this problem after not playing for years and my whole swing came down to to whether or not my hands could compensate in time.

If they did I played well and hit straightish shots, if not I would just keep hitting pushes all day long.

I've really been working hard recentlky on having my hands as the 'steering wheel' of my swing (the engine being the big muscles like torso and legs). So by knowing where my hands are and concentrating on them only they are guiding my swing and getting my body into the right positions rather than my hips driving my swing.

Hope that makes sense.

The results have been great, my best ballstriking now is probably better than when I played of 5 about 12 years ago and the consistency is really starting to fall into place.

Hi Ducky
Mate, I see a big problem. But easy to fix.
1/ your set up in regards to your putting is not good, because the main thing we need to do is take out your Waist down.( no movement at all on such a short putt). If you watch your knees you will see a slight movement. With the leading knee this is so IMPORTANT.
This is the first thing to fix.
Look at the video putting from behind. Okay first putt legs where good nearly no movement. Next ones left knee moved and you pulled the putts. Also at impact there is a slight look up. You need to keep your head down and keep looking down and listen for a plonk as the ball goes in.

Try this
1/ set up with more knee bend
2/ keep all your waist down completely still and use your upper pendulum of your shoulders and arms working as one.
3/ Keep your head down and listen for the plonk.

On a small putt like this you should be geting at least 3 of 4/5 putts.

I have a great putting and chipping DVD that will be out to all my students on monday.
Please if you need me for further info ring me

I'm certainly no expert, so take this with a grain of salt, but the putting backswing looks very wristy. I don't know if this would affect the line at all, but it would certainly have an effect on distance control. Maybe Addam can confirm?

Put some tape on the face of the club and show me where you are hitting the face at impact,
Also this week we will be getting into the tush line.

Putting is getting better, but I am still missing everything right with my ball striking. Very frustrated at the moment.

Might be time for a new set of clubs?

Hi Ben
the Tush line is one of the most important things at impact to help with consistant centre shots and the best result from a good swing. The tush line is a main player for any single figure player to get to the next level. If your bum moves away from the tush line that means trouble. If your swing moves into the tush line it is not as bad but the idea is if you draw a line down your bum to the ground and then at impact to the follw through it should stay there touching the line.

No, it can only shoot in slow motion for a few seconds and I required a friend to be there to assist. I will be selling this camera and getting a new one.
