quick one...

is there a certain 9 on your home course you seem to do really well on???

I've been playing a lot on the front nine (coz it's easier to finish off in the dark) during the weekdays, and am starting to perhaps realize that the back nine is killing my scores during 18s...

I would like to play more on the back 9 during the week, but chances of finishing the last 2 holes are pretty bad, esp if I'm teeing off after 4.30. :(

was contemplating playing 18 holes this Saturday, back nine twice!!!

Mau - I play our back 9 really well - mainly because it favours length over accuracy!

Our front 9 is way more technical and there are more spots where 1 bad shot can result in 2-3 extra strokes.

That said, I've played each 9 at +9 before (in separate rounds) so things mustn't be too bad!

I think I prefer the back nine to the front at Nambour. I find that a couple of the par 4s on the front really stretch my game, at this stage.

The 4th and 5th Andy? That 5th is probabbly one of the hardest par 4's without water i have ever played - but I would rather play that hole 10 times than the graveyard 14th any time.

Yep, the 4th and 5th. 3rd can be nasty if it's not dry.

There is water on the 5th, on the right (a bit short to be in play), and the left (within driving distance).

I have definitely had some fun with the 14th, that graveyard messes with your mind.

Seeing as I never play my home course It's tough to say. I seem to play equally bad on both 9's & everyone thinks I'm a visitor.

The back 9 at Casino are good scoring holes. If you manage to hold it together thru the first 9 you can get a roll on and complete a good round. Or you can easily frustrate yourself out of one by a couple of poor shots.

Otherwise i'd say the front 9 at the old Hunter Valley GC (Porta Fino) - only because they are terrific holes, and in direct contrast the back 9 was a little mickey-mouse.

I like both nines at Cairns GC, but I always seem to score better on the front nine. I'm not sure why. It is the shorter of the nine's, but length is not much of a problem for me. I think it may be becuase the first few holes favour my game, which enables me to get a good start, where the back nine starts with 3 tough holes. I'll have to give it more thought.

I think that's it Courty...

I'm struggling on the back at the moment, coz it has more holes into the wind, or very affected by them, and when it comes downwind, it's just as hard trying to stop the ball on the greens...

I'm so comfortable with the front nine, and if stats are anything to go by, only 3 of the 9 really cause me some concern, whereas it's like 6 on the back...
