Had a 94/78 (51-43) played the back nine first though. CCR 76 again

Was playing pretty solidly until i had a pair of back to back 8's. ouch!

Think i am leading net again.. don't know by how much. Will work it out later.

Bring on the fourth round.

3rd round club champs at woomba..

So apparently it is quite easy to go from leader in gross to 7 behind... Keza shoots 95 rather easily and slips into contention for the best choke of the century...

Fairway ???? what fairway ??? oh... i know what a green is... remotely...

Bring on the 4th round for a massive swing in either direction....

Played @ Bankstown today. Had a shocker 21 points, 9 front 12 back. Was just one of those days. If anything could go wrong it did. Lost 5 balls that were no more than 2-3 feet off the fairway. Had some good things happen 2 pars & a birdie.
Hopefully it will be better tomorrow @ Ashlar.

Up the girls:shock:  Hope we read some great reports today.!!

Played par yesterday. First comp round at my course with the new clubs. Great front 9 - +2 - 4 pars, 4 bogeys and one stupid stupid double. Grrrrrrrrr. Back 9 - well it wasn't pretty.

I know it's no excuse but playing with 2 girls - one off 45 and one off 38 who had -9 and -8. Well it's hard to keep any rhythm going. And they are were so pedantic about whose turn it was - especially on the green. "Oh I think you're closer - you go - No - you're a couple of inces closer you go - no I really think you are.....blah blah effin blah -" while I'm just saying in my head "One of you just bloody putt for god's sake!!!!!! I really have to learn to just tune out and focus on what I'm doing.

Ended up - 3 on the back 9 - total of -1. It was good enough to win A grade- another very windy day. Only 1 person came in + for the day.

Hey Dion where can I get a yellow bucket hat?

BrisVegas
31st May 2007, 09:55 AM
you can't. Titleist makes them specifically for Steve Mata, so he stands out on the range at tourneys. He's just lending it to Zach Johnson for that photo.

I bought a couple of Navy blue ones from tgw last year. I think you can still find them if you search hard enough.

Yet another Crap round of golf, 23 points @ Ashlar GC this time 2 better than yesterday but the golf did not look pretty at all. Hopefully all the crap golf is out of the system by Saturday, otherwise I see a 100+ score coming my way.

Saturday for me is Macarthur Grange Plate, with the course in it's supposedly toughest config. Not confident at all of a good score.
If it was putt putt I would be a chance but with any other club I have no idea which way it is going to go.

ok, here we go...

Went to the doc this morning and I have 2 "pulled" muscles. One in the front of my shin and the other is a calf.... no wonder i couldnt walk properly, so off to physio i go again..... this game is damaging to my health..

Apparently I must have done something on the tuesday (3rd round) cause it was a little tight on the wed and absolute agony on thursday (4th Round).... Hence to say that I shot a fantastic 4th round score of 101 !!! taking me all the way back to 3rd ..... Hoorah...

Well done shazzy on that title defence !!! maybe a double at RL ?

Had a warmup hit at Mac Grange this morning. 27 holes, played ok was 29 over after 27 so only 2 over my handicap.
The 18 were worse than the replay of the back 9, so the score is a bit flattered by better play on the 3rd nine. Had 4 pars and 5 bogey's on the 3rd nine.
Putting was a little off, Mac Grange greens are a bit slow at the moment but actually look a hell of a lot slower than they are. I never left a putt short all day so that is a good thing too. Worked on good course management and am going back soon for another hit

hehe, AndyP & Shaz are unbackable favourites after today....

Single stab at Brookwater
13 + 18 = 31 points (83 gross)
9 fairways
9 GIR
33 putts

Actually hit the ball pretty well, but for a couple of shockers. Knocked it on the 13th (345m drive & 200m approach! gotta love rock hard fairways) for the second time ever and damn near 3-putted it! Hit all the par 3's. Putted pretty badly. Oh well, maybe next week I'll get out of this rut.

87/75 at Caboolture today. Monthly Medal
Fairly cold with the putter, had quite a few lip out, but at least those ones hit the cup!
33 putts, 5 fairways, 2 GIR!
Was going to boast about how far I hit the ball on the 7th (270m or so), but now that Vegas put one out there like he did on the 13th, I'm going to go and sulk!

hahah, I was only having a laugh. If you knew the hole you'd know that I probably only carried that drive about 220m. It's dramatically downhill and rock hard.

My rough stats for my NCR, i dont know my score, but i felt i hit it good but wouldnt have scored that great, maybe +18?? i duno.....

Fairways 8ish

Greens 8ish

Putts 38ish

Driver was pretty straight all day

Irons were solid but just my distance control was out a little (1st round with them so i guess its to be expected)

Putter felt good but nothing dropped all day, im rolling the ball 100 times better and at the end the short ones went in solid with a good stroke

Courty

Club Champs Rd. 1

I had a really solid start, parring the 1st 4 holes. On the 5th (210m par 3) I hit one at right angles off the toe and it disappeared into the bushes next to the tee. I teed up again and hit my 4 iron to 8 ft, but missed the putt fo what would have been a miraculous bogey. Nothing much to speak of for the rest of the round. I made plenty of good pars, but a few bogies crept in due to poor chips. I finished with 82 (nett 75) which will be good for 0.1. ;)
However, it's not all bad, as my partner & I cleaned up the opposition in the betting.
As I'll miss the 3rd & 4th round next week, I'm going to go all out tomorrow. I'm gonna take on every water carry and attack every pin. After all, I have nothing to lose.

Stats:

FIR: 11/14 :)
GIR: 7/18
Putts: 33
U&D: 5/10 :?

Monthly Medal today for a nett 58 (72 off the bat) and 7-under for the win \\:D/

28 putts including 2 3-putts and a chip-in. Basically consistency and some luck got me over the line, and my new love for the short game - shankless and accurate! It worth noting that the course is getting better. Finally we've done away with preferred lies, and the greens that were killed recently are all back and rolling beautifully.

I can finally tick-off one of the things I've always wanted to achieve - a mug with my name on it! Lowest handicap of 11.9 - we're doing it in .2's now!! My revisit to B-Grade is well and truly over.

EDIT: Forgot to mention - came into the clubhouse to check my TAB tickets to confirm what we already knew - Some Are Bent is the best horse over the jumps in Australia!

Monthly medal at Reddy today. Unlike soe courses we have rain so the long run was not there ;) 98/24, was motoring along nicely until it started to rain on the 13th (shotgun start from the 17th). Best stat today was 29 putts. Almost made it with no 3 putts, until the last hole :(

6/14 Fairways, 2 GIR, No penalties!! 3 Pars. Pretty happy but coulda been better. New woods went OK not quite used to them yet.

Thanks guys. AP - I got to 17.4 twice I think before I'd break my handicap and get it down to the low 17's/high 16's, but since Feb I've had 3 drops of 2 shots each.

I played smart today, with 5w and 3w off the 2 par 5's today and kept the ball out of trouble. I always think if I can par the 5th (first par 5) - I'm in for a good day!

Strange day for me, didn't really play that great and never really got anything going, 34pts 19+15.

Driving was extremely solid, irons were pretty reasonable but I could not hole a putt, only one bird on the card plus a silly 3 putt par on a par 4 :(

2/8 Up & Downs
1 penalty

Ok it had to happen.

3 rounds at pair in club champs was to much.

I don't think I choked I just forgot how to chip and putt. I hit the long stuff well. Its the first time in one round I was on the 2 (535m- into wind) and 13 (552M) in two. 3 putts par. Its strange but I think because my long game was so good it put pressure on my short game. I hit 10 fairways 9 GIR I was within 5m of 6 others. 0/4 sands 46 putts. 2.6 putts/GIR.

100 net 84. I crashed from 4 to 11 in gross and missed out on matchplay.

So I got pissed then had to work sunday :(

Before you cast assertions jarro, you might be surprised to know i'm lucky to make it to the range once a week, but i practice putting every day particularly within a 2 metre radius.

If anything the practice has made me lose my lag touch. A lip out counts for the same amount of shots as a missed putt ;)

If that is the case Pete, maybe its time to face facts that you just can't cut it around the greens :? So don't waste any more of your time practising if that is the results.

Terry/eags in the weeks before it was my short game that had been saving me I was at 80% for sand save and avg under 30 putts. I was happy with the practice level.

Courty I only missed 2 putts from inside 1m. I was lipping a lot of second putts from 2 or 3 meters. eg the first putt went no where near the hole. If you don't chip in or 1 putt during a round, stats can go south fast.

It is more a fact I have always been a better chipper then putter from range. I got caught out because I hit way more GIRs then normal. I don't think it helped that I have been working a sh1t load of hours for the last two weeks.

Fishman Dan

Took the day off and played in our Monday comp. It was a small field in wet cold conditions - which I didn't mind at all - but for god's sake - save me from old ladies who play off 45 and come in with 24 and 28 points and take 5 hours to play a round!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :smt013 :smt013 :smt013 :smt013 :smt093 :smt093 :smt093 :smt093

I have really had enough of playing with crap golfers - I know I should be more patient but week after week I'm having to put up with this. I know I'm being precious - but try being on a green for two and watching your partners not get on for 8 ( short par 4).

Maybe it is time I started looking for a new club. There is only 1 girl with a better handicap than mine and 2 others off 18 and 19. It's hard to improve when you're playing with high handicappers ALL the time.

Ok - enough whinge. Don't pick on me Bruce:smt023

had 32 points - 19 on the front - and 13 on the back. Say no more.
