Aaron Baddelely has recently changed his swing, why i'll never know because i thought his old swing was just so simple and effective.

Anyway, here's an article from GolfDigest that breaks down what he's doing http://www.golfdigest.com/instruction/index.ssf?/instruction/gd200706stacktilt.html

What do you guys think of it ? I'll bet Jono gets out there today to try it out ;)

Which old swing of his did you see as being effective? Not the one that was hitting maybe 50% of fairways and he was playing horrible with?

Reading the headline of the article both his wins came since changing his swing. He seemed to have really stalled in his progress (if not going backwards) then suddenly got some form and now a couple of wins. Stack and tilt baby, stack and tilt!

This swing and article has generated a lot of talk on the US forums most of it negative. Not a lot of believers if you know what I mean.
My problem with the Golf Digest article is that they use Baddeley for the swing model but I've never seen him in this position at the top of his swing. (pic stolen from another forum)

Looks like a tilt to me

Funny, that's almost exactly what my position at the top looked like on the Drummond Golf video analysis, and they told me it was a huge fault.
Nevertheless, it felt comfortable, so I still do it.

I posted these pics after my visit to the US PGA in 2005. Elk was being coached by the same guys.

This is Elk doing a similar drill.

This is his real top of backswing position:

It seemed to work pretty well for Elk that week. He came in equal 2nd. 8)

The feel vs real problem comes up here...the drill's they give aren't meant to reflect positions in backswing, rather feelings....seems like an ok method for some golfers, not sure it is the cure-all some claim though.

I'll be giving this a go. It worked ok today when I remembered to straighten my right leg on the backswing, rather than just turn and reverse c.

In addition to what Jono has posted above, here is a video.

Does Reverse C = Choke in 4th round?

Funny you say that Pete... the first three days I could nto see any flaws in the way Badds was swinging.

However in the final round his misses with the swing didn't look pretty at all. I willa dmit we didn't see too many of as his main problems for the first 6 holes or so as his main issue was his putting, he still hit it close on 2 and hit the par 5 4th in 2.

IF he had made a couple putts in the first 3 or 4 holes which he would normally expect to make he would've been in much better shape.

I'm not a huge Badds fan but I think like anyone that when your main strength (putting) deserts you it has a HUGE impact on the rest of your game.

That triple on the first killed Badds, he had no chance after that.

Purely nerves
