I've spent the afternoon sobbing into my work! I can't believe that in the time it took to fill that last spot that one of the nsw guys didn't find a cheap flight up and fill the spot. With the right flight, it'd probably be cheaper than a green fee paying game at brooky.

Moe got in touch with me first, it's that simple. I never stipulated that it had to be the first one to post or pm or whatever, although I probably should have set some ground rules to prevent sceptics like you crying foul.

Sure, I feel bad for kent, and it would have been good to give him his first round at Brookwater.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing those playing on Saturday. I just wish I could have had more free passes to make this a bigger day. :sad:

it's all short stuff at brooky since the drought. fairways are green, rough is dusty. it's much easier now than when it was lush.

Never played a 4bbb vs. par before. I enjoyed it - thanks mainly to cameron, for holding the pair together!
What an awsome course. I found it very enjoyable (bloody savage on a very il-directed shot) but can forgive an only slightly off shot. The approach shots were all long irons which made it very demanding for me.

Started with an 8, at that point it was going to be a LONG day. however two holes later it started to come together. Blistered the rest of the back nine 12 through 18 we scored well.

Highlight of my day was the par 5 17th:
1st shot - rubbish tee shot didn't clear RHS bunker
2nd shot - out of bunker clipped the front lip and shot right into a tree falling in a shrub (right in the middle)
3rd shot - punch out attempt didn't contact ball
4th shot - tap out (hope lost)
5th shot - 175m 5 iron landed about 3.5metre from cup.
6th shot - rolled it for a square.

One of the few holes that the pressure was on me to square as agrave found the drink.

Had a great day, very enjoyable golf.

Was good watching thommo bomb a few shots - still in shock over the 13th mate, good golf that!

Good day had by all, awesome scoring display from a couple of 19 marker burgulars in Agave and kpac, they were +6 through 9 but fell away a bit at the end.

Perci and I finished +5, left a few out there including two - coming home on 8 and 9 after my tee shot mysteriously dissappeared.

Perci's 2 driver alternation policy was entertaining and kpac's display of hitting flops with his lob wedge for EVERY greenside chip was impressive - considering he didn't blade any!

Up and down golf for me, as kpac alluded to, I finally conquered the 13th, knocking it on in 2 after standing on the tee claiming it was unreachable. 4 birdies mixed in with a few doubles, ended up with around 80 off the beater.

As usual, holes 1-4 gave me a belting, that stretch of holes kills me every time!

Makes no differnce on that hole, my drive would have been in the same spot from the blacks. Hit it on the downslope and it rolls to the same spot everytime. It was the lovely high drawing 200m carry 3 iron that was the hard bit ;)

I reckon i've been 200-220 out on that hole every time I've played it, black or gold - never been able to knock it on that tiny green, due to having to carry that right trap, but when you have a 4ball partner who has laid up beautifully, you tend to take a bit of a risk :)
