I wouldn't call it a that andy. For what it is worth I like the balls. I pay about $75 for 3 dozen AA grade when I buy em. Squizzies do AAA for about $40 a dozen I think.

i can buy a dozen of the black or platinum for $50

i might get one of each - which one is better?

Black lasts a bit longer, penetrates wind a bit better but harder around the greens.

Petey has already got it covered. Basically, the Nike Platinum could be compared to the Titleist V1 and the Nike Black compared to the Titleist V1x. Nike were meant to be releasing a new version of the Nike Platinum which was meant to be similar to Tiger's specifications, but I'm unsure on what the situation is.

what do you mean by harder though?

The ProV1x is still pretty soft!

I'm about to purchase, but I want the X equivalent as long as its as soft as an X I'm happy.

Feels a bit firmer off the putter. Get some and find out. That is a pretty good price for new.

I've been playing this ball for about 3 weeks. Got a few dozen from a friend and thought I'd give them a go.

Distance is on par with the Pro V1 or HX Tour 56, as is spin. A little shorter than the V1X but nto by much. Great ball around the greens, very soft feel and really easy to control.....
