How cool would it be to see Ogilvy go back to back. :)

I've heard of him and that's saying something. He's Welsh, I think, and has won a few times in Europe.

Bradley Dredge I think.

Didn't Ames get rolled by Tiger by a similar score last year after making a comment about his swing!!??

Now you're talking ducky, with your new internet betting you'll have a few multis on this one wont you. i did.
all up -
Goosen
Woods
Harrington
O'hern
Furyk
Ogilvy
Works out at 15-1 (sounds nice, but i never really expect 6 leg multis to get up, so it is more for interests sake)

Money to burn?

Those matches I quoted are going to be tight. I reckon Stenson might be a good bet.

Ducky
22nd February 2007, 05:47 PM
Scrap that. He's currently at 1.62 to advance. I am only doing small bets ($20-30), so I think Justin Rose at 2.50 could be solid.

Makes it interesting. I've also put a 3 leg multi on VJ/Wood/Blues(super14) to win back what i lose on that one.

I like the 1.75 you can get on O'Hern - he has been a punters pick lately, always value and always a show

Grunt

I got $51 for O'Hern to win it.

Ducky

Alright, I'm on Justin Rose against Phil Mickelson. I checked out what they were both shooting in their first rounds, and it seems that Justin Rose might have a slight scoring edge.

Badds has just come back from 3 down at the tenth to win 1 up at the eighteenth against Donald.

Super effort.

Woo hoo, both my bets were successful! Justin Rose got up over Phil Mickelson 3 & 1 and Shaun Micheel got up over Rod Pampling 1 up.

:)

Micheel birdied the last 2 holes to pamps' pars to go from 1 down to a 1 up win.

Cool matchups tomorrow !

O'hern V Tiger
Baddley v Stenson
Ogilvy v Fasth

If there is a weak side, it looks like Ogilvy might be on it based on form ???

He has now taken Woods out in 2005 & 2007 great win :)

Jarro
24th February 2007, 11:27 AM
Tiger was really off his game though. He had chances to win it but couldn't get the job done on the greens. I think he only hit 3 fairways with his driver too

They would have given you evens for him coming second!

Ducky
24th February 2007, 12:13 PM
O'Hern would have been a great bet to take at $4.00 against Tiger. However, looking at both of their previous rounds I would have thought it would be impossible for Tiger to lose.

Well done to Ogilvy. He must like the last weekend in Feb it all seems to come together for him at this time of year.

At least with the 36 hole match tomorrow he will get to play the 18th for the first time. He's only played 17 twice out of five matches.

Fishman Dan
25th February 2007, 10:45 AM
O'Hern is a dirty bloody choker.

Ducky - see the Punt thread in the Sports forum... $41 was a lot tastier!

I know the championship match is 36 holes, is the 3rd place match 36 too. Just asking as the 3rd place match has played 10 holes and Ogilvy's match against Stenson has already played 25. Ogilvy is 1 up too, Immellman leads teh other match 1 up as well

goughy
26th February 2007, 08:02 AM
The 3rd place match is only 18. It starts just before the champ match reaches it's second 18 so they complete toegther.

3oneday
26th February 2007, 08:02 AM
18 holes for the consolation match.... they started at the same time the Champ match started their 2nd 18.

Grunt
26th February 2007, 08:05 AM
Ok that makes sense, thought for a seconed if it was 36 holes it would be tough to play out as people would be leaving after the championship match. Have heard that back markers in some PGA events tee off after the leaders on the final day, that would be real tough.

He was outdriving O'Hern using his 3 wood anyway

Only when the hole was downwind...... they had comparable distance when the holes were into the wind.

Tiger seems to struggle when he is playing into the wind..... he had three doubles on the first 7 holes when playing against O'Hern....and all of those were into the wind.

The commentators commented on this fact as they said that Tiger would come back after the 8th hole or so when they turned downwind, it was almost right as Tiger came from 2 or 3 down to square it up not long after they got back playing with the wind.

And off-topic but......

Since when does Tiger have a Ping grip on a Scotty Cameron putter?

Grunt
26th February 2007, 08:23 AM
Starting to get to the money end of the match. Ogilvy is 1 up after 28 (7 holes to go), still anyones match. Immelman is starting to get away, he is 3up thru 12

Just noticed an almost common link to the final four in this event. 3 out of the four of them were the 3rd seed in their group at the start of the tournament. Ogilvy, Immelman & Stenson.

He's always had a Black Pingman grip on his Newport2. He has the white lettering blacked out though. I believe he started out with a Ping putter and just liked the feel of it.

Grunt

The shot from Stenson on the 16th was awesome about 2 feet from the pin, that said Ogilvy hit his to 6 feet only to miss the putt to halve the hole.

Courty
26th February 2007, 09:32 AM
Tiger used a Ping Anser (or similar) in college. When he turned pro & started playing Titleist, he couldn't find a putter grip he liked, so put the Ping grip back on & blacked out the letters (for sponsorship reasons).

Ogilvy blew it.

Grunt

Ok then I will rephrase it, he played the back end of the final 18 better. I knew he shot 40, but Ogilvy did not capitalise on it that much did he?

Jarro
26th February 2007, 09:58 AM
He was still up at the turn so i'd say he capitalised.

Ogilvy looked tired towards the end. I know both of them had to play 36 holes today but i think Ogilvy certainly looked the more tired of the two.

Even with it blacked out you could still see it when they zoom in on him while he is lining up his putts.
