It's over 40C in Melbourne today. Hottest day we've all summer. Gee - the flowers and this flowergirl are wilting.
Just thought I'd let you know.

The media were upset - they were hoping to see more riots at the tennis centre.

you guys get pretty crappy weather there don't you.

What was with the power cuts ? Too hot for the transformers and they shut down ?

I was there when you had the same weather last year and they brought the heat rule in at the tennis. It was suffocating.

Fires up north in the state burnt through one of the main power lines or something like that.

Went to the practise range from 5-6 tonight, drank 1.5 L of water and still felt dehydrated!

The NSW-Vic power link was cut by fires and so they couldn't do any load shifting thus they shut down segments. Ours went down at home between 1-4PM. The poor girls just about melted.

How tough was it on the Aus Open players. Sharapova just held on much to Ch7's relief.

Just nude up and run around in the backyard under the hose, that will cool you down as quick as.

It's my turn to swelter today. It's forecast to be 35* in Parra, and our office air-con is being turned off at 3pm to allow work to be carried out on the roof.

I've got a west-facing room full of servers that relies on an A/C unit to maintain 24/25* - as soon as it gets turned off that will sky-rocket. I can only turn off about two-thirds of the servers during business hours to conserve the heat output too.

It's gunna be a stinkfest in the office this arvo! Finance have been told they can go home at 1pm - i have to stay until the air comes back on at about 9 or 10pm tonight!
