Clearing my personal driver stocks at the moment.

The Babylon is SMT's carbon titanium matrix and in my opinion the best of the 2004 heads. Mated to the shaft that Tom Watson has been using in his driver for the past two years. The Icon v.2 is an R-flex but plays more like a stiff. Frequency is 255 cpm at 44 inches.

That is EXACTLY what I am saying. Just ask Jono what he thinks of the Icon v.2.

Tom Watson uses the stiff flex and he still swings at 110 mph average so he's no slouch.

I'd be very tempted to get this for myself if the loft was a couple of degrees less. The Babylon probably flies a bit higher than the loft indicates, and I have a high ball tendency, so I'll probably end up ballooning the 9 degree.

The thing that impresses me about the ICON V2 is that it seems to "dial in" to the swing speed. I can swing it has hard as I want and it seems to be very stable through impact. At the same time, it doesn't feel too stiff. It has a bit of a kick through impact. I was also amazed how it didn't seem to have a spine. I tested it on the spine finder and it seemed to be stable in all directions.

I don't think I've ever seen anyone so fully against a brand of clubs before. It almost boggles my mind :P . My new creed - if it works hit it.

My 360tour will be gone soon. In fact I may even just use my 3 wood for a while. I have such a mental problem with my drivers at the mo and no money to spend that it may have to do.

I did have a hit at our driving range of a 2nd hand callaway hawkeye vft pro series 11.5 degree with regular rch60 shaft. Couldn't see where they were finishing but mostly straight or light draws. No ballooning either. :shock: :?

Best I've ever hit off the tee was with my Brosnan Innovator 12* steel driver with very whippy aldila cheapy shaft. Hit one just behind the front right greenside bunker on the 6th on nudgee south with that. It's disgusting that my ball stricking is better now but my driving is much much worse.
