They have shown more than one season here, although each season seems to slip to a later timeslot.

Subject: [get_smart] Finally, DVD Details!

> As first reported here in September 2005, anonymous sources have
> confirmed that Time-Life will be releasing Get Smart on DVD sometime
> this Fall. Here are all the details I have at the moment:
>
> All of the episodes are the original, uncut masters!
> Each one has been painstakingly restored and they look amazing. Every
> fan will be stunned by the quality of the restoration and the
> beautiful look of these restored shows. Leonard Stern has seen the
> restored episodes and said that finally the show can be seen the way
> it was meant to be seen.
> There are almost two hours of bonus materials on every season set.
> Barbara Feldon, Buck Henry, and Mel Brooks will be offering commentary
> in the season one set and there's more amazing commentaries on the
> following seasons.
> Each season set will feature original features, never before seen
> footage, and bloopers! Yes, bloopers have been unearthed and they're
> fabulous!!
>
> Anonymous sources have also confirmed that Time-Life is working on all
> five seasons simultaneously! The programs are closed captioned. They
> will only be in English. Another source has confirmed that the DVDs
> will be released in Australia at the same time.
>
> This is all the information I'm able to release at this time. However,
> all of this is great news. As I've hinted before, Time-Life has done a
> tremendous job with this release. The final list of extras will blow
> you all away.

Read at wouldyoubelieve.com that get smart may be coming to dvd at the end of the year. HBO/time life may release it - I hope it dosen't mean those monthly mailed dvd's like hogans heros.
Bad luck, goughy.

Still a chance they will be released as one full season rather than a couple of episodes per dvd each month.

Can always hope!!

anyone remember macguver?Yep, I loved McGyver when I was a kid. I remember seeing some of it as an adult and thought it was pretty lame.

Well Get Smart has been released in Aus and it's a load of crappola..............

In the US, $200 for all 5 seasons. In Aus, $350au for seasons 1 and 2. It would be like a 350% increase in price to buy them here. AAARRRRGGGGHHHH

:confused::smt092:twisted::shock::smt013:smt012:sm t022:smt090:smt102:smt021:smt010:smt075:smt019:smt 098:smt014](*,)

That's all I've got to say about that (till I stop crying anyway)

AndyP
4th February 2007, 11:04 AM
That's what torrents are for.

goughy
4th February 2007, 11:14 AM
Yeah, but this was one I wanted to 'own'. Won't bother now. Although I might try and get my hands on the US one I guess. Just need a region one player!

just
4th February 2007, 02:14 PM
What brand DVD do you have Goughy? I found with both the ones I've had they just needed an unlock code to allow them to play all regions, which was easily obtainable over the web.

goughy
18th July 2007, 08:00 PM
So if I wanna buy the US version of these DVD's, I need someone in the US I'm guessing? Not that I'm going to do it right away, but it is a plan I guess.

But what a rip. In the US, it's $199US for the 5 seasons, or $39US for season 1, both with free shipping. In Aus, it's $340AU for seasons 1 and 2. Ripoff.

I think I'll have to find a way to get the US ones, then sort out how to play them later.

markTHEblake

I emailed them about the pricing and their BS reply just pissed me off it was that bad.

Thought I saw a Time Life ad for these again the other day.

goughy
18th July 2007, 08:20 PM
They're also doing the monthly purchase thingy. I think all 5 seasons would end up costing over $800. Just crazy that anyone would do that. I mean, I'm a huge gs fan. It's like the only tv show I want to own on dvd, and I'm so looking forward to introducing my kids to it.

Will definitely do the 'buy from the us' thing at some time.

Those people who bought this through time life must be peeved!!! First 3 seasons will be available soon at 50bucks each! Woo Hoo.

AndyP
1st May 2008, 07:47 AM
Who would be mad enough to pay $50 for it though?

markTHEblake
1st May 2008, 08:35 AM
Still too much

goughy
2nd May 2008, 09:04 PM
The ones who bought it through time life are paying like 29.95 for every 4 episodes!

I'll get it at 50 bucks a season! Still my fav show, and the only tv series I am really seriously needing to own! Although I do have seasons 1 to 3 of alias, but got them cheap.
