I'm jetting in to Brisbane is a fortnight for the Robbie Williams concert. I'm not a huge fan of his music, but can't deny that he is a fantastic entertainer. I just heard a bit of news that has made it all worthwhile. The support act is Sneaky Sound System. I've been enjoying their stuff on my iPod lately and now can't wait to see them live.

We only paid $100 for our tickets.. And seeing we paid more last week for Billy Joel and P!nk is not that much cheaper - I think that's an awesome deal!! All concerts are becoming this thing where you treat yourself and pay a lot of money to see a World Class act... You'll be hard finding a group or singer that you can get GOOD tickets for under $80 nowadays!

Yeah - I'm going to his first concert :) At the moment he is either wandering around Adelaide still or hanging around in Sydney until this weekend's concert...

After his Adelaide show, a report in the paper said: " Robbie has said this current year-long international tour would be his last for quite some time..."

If you have the chance - get tickets now while you still can :)

Make sure you have a plan to get home.

Concertgoers in Sydney lined up for hours to get taxis - and taxi drivers were charging people anywhere from $150+ to get from the olympic site to the city (only about a 20 min drive!)

shazza_rs
12th December 2006, 02:50 PM
Don't worry manda....

The concert is at Suncorp Stadium (lang park)..... right near all the public transport you could ever want.... u could walk to the city if needs be.

amanda
12th December 2006, 03:12 PM
shaz - the sydney one was at the olympic venue right next to the train station! But Sydney's public transport system is rather crap.

Golf_Novice
12th December 2006, 03:19 PM
So is Brisbane's.... This was the big complaint from the U2 concert (but it was held at ANZ)

I have been to a heap of stuff at Suncorp Stadium - not to this capacity I'll add - and never had a transport issue. I've either done a shuttle bus to Eight Mile Plains (in and out) or a train or, like you said, walked to the city and gone from there...

I'm just soooooooooooooooooo excited!! Hehe (can you tell????)

Just out of interest, how did Lang Park handle the concert? Did it all run smoothly?

And what about the sound quality?

Golf_Novice
14th December 2006, 11:36 AM
Yep... so easily this was one of the BEST concerts I've been to!! It ROCKED!!!

To answer questions:
* Did you throw your knickers at him Chop ? - No, but someone threw a bra at him. He threw it back :)

* I'm on the ground tonight, but in field B. Is it that far back? Any recommendations at all? (ie. Does he pop up out back somewhere) - If you are right at the front of Field B - GREAT! But other than that a heap of people were just standing at the back dancing, not really watching him. He doesn't pop up out the back - SORRY!

* What was the mix of new crap and old goodies? - None of his music is crap.. but yes, he sang new stuff and old! Plus a tribute to Take That!!

* Just out of interest, how did Lang Park handle the concert? Did it all run smoothly? And what about the sound quality? - Hmmm... Lang Park did really well I thought. QR was cr@p!! All seemed to run smoothly to me. Sound was awesome!! 200 speakers or something like that. In the paper today they said there was only 4 noise complaints and it only went over the limited sound range a few times and that was mostly due to the crowd!!

All in all AWESOME performance!! I was in the seated area (thank god coz' those on the ground were like sardines!!) and we stood up and danced the whole night!! I took a million photos (see avatar) and some recordings of his songs. LOVED IT!! Even bought a shirt which was more affordable than the Kylie concert!!! As always a great spectular from Robbie!

Best bit... look at my photo!! :)

Enjoy tonight guys!!
