Was looking at a set of clubs on eBay. Shaft read
DATA080 wt 80 tq2.2 and KP M PRGR M-40

Anyone know what flex this is?

M-40 is the flex designation. Japanese clubs designate flex by m/s so M-40 is 40m/s or close enough to 90mph. Now I just wish I could remember if that's based off driver swing speed...

I'm pretty sure M-40 is closest to what we call regular.

gday , just found this..

yes i do indeed have a cpl of sets laying about...........................,

m40 is driver swing speed in meters per second.
turns out 39.8 mps is the average amateur golfer speed and 300g is the best weight for average golfers driver at 45inch accoridng to prgr research
so m40 is regular
M40 can play soft stiff and , m 37 is a soft reg .
PRGR go to m-46 which is pretty getting to stout IN REAL PLAY , m-43 as i see it is perfect for driver swing speeds about 94-102 mph ...ish... stronger than 102 ur best with the m46 . they do take a decent step up in stiffnes in a game.
they are made by NS so the quality is top class.
im not 100% sure but i think they are prob based on the 1050 model or 999 is my best guess bec they dont balloon to me , the M marked shafts def fly a little lower than an NS 950s from what i see , i play these a lot and ive no need to reshaft the heads if these are in them.
i play m43 and cant fault them in any way possible.
m46 i find a little bit boardy, i like the ability to work the m43s in the air ever so slightly the m46s are a bit tough to do
As a driver shaft equiv id rate the m-43 same as i wud l a diamana blue 65s and say the m-37 like a diamana red 65reg
