Ok all

Who is going to win the Brock trophy on Sunday?

Holden or Ford?

Courty

This should be a poll.

Holden: 1
Ford: 0

Grunt

Can I add a poll?

Courty

Not sure. I'm sure if you ask a mod nicely they will do it for you. ;)

Where's the Nissan Skyline option?

Fishman Dan

Just next to Cosworth Sierra... i.e. nowhere near my mountain, thanks!

Holden for friggin' sure. They've had a mortgage on the track for years now. Also look out for Murph, he's always there or thereabouts with several wins at Bathurst already.

From the Ford camp this young Winterbottom could be a Bathurst bolter, but this is one of those "Lose one before you win one" events.

Murph takes people out when they are beating him. Ford to end the 7 year drought. Only manufacturer I know to have 7 of the 8 cars on the lead lap and still lose the frigging race ...

couldn't give a rats...would only be interested if they raced without the nancy firesuits / helmets / harnesses and on normal everyday street tyres - mob of prancing gay boys if you ask me.........a very safe 'sport ' indeed.......now moto GP or Isle of Man is real racing ...

I get the feeling you would have preferred Chariot Racing, a la Ben Hurr Damo?

Well, in that case, it must be Ford's turn. Didn't they throw it away last year??

In any event, I don't watch it anymore. It used to be interesting when there was a variety of cars, like Sierra's, GTR Skylines etc... It's a good spectacle, like Nascar, but the purpose built stock car idea, painted blue or red doesn't interest me too much...

Despite my surname, I have little interest in motorsport.

Seeing as though I un-tipped the Bronco's, get all over Winterbottom at the TAB.

I've already told the missus to make her own plans for Sunday. She's possibly going for a drive to the South Coast -

"Do you want to come on that drive?".

"It would be nice, but not if you're planning it for Sunday"

No contest really - Brocky has spiritual pole position and will let Skaiffe/Tander through on the last lap for a Commodore victory.

Ford for sure. Two reasons:

1. I'm a Craig Lowndes fan
2. I owned a holden once and it sucked!

Real bad Accident in the Fujitsu race, Qualifying has been delayed. 2 drivers taken to hospital from the track. Word around the track is not good for their health.

Grunt
6th October 2006, 03:11 PM
Unconfirmed reports that 1 of the drivers is not is good health at all.

Supercar Qualifying has begun bottom 50% of the field on the track at the moment.

Fishman Dan

Ford driver straight into the drivers-side door apparently.

Up the mighty holdens!

Go team red for tomozza :):):)

If a Holden wins geez I hope it is Jason Richards. Go the Battler.
Hope Skaife parks it up against the wall. Can't stand how they have worked the rules to suit themselves this year, swapping drivers between teams for the endurance events and swapping them back as soon as Bathurst is over this weekend.
Lost even more repesct for them when they said the rule should be changed next year so noone could do it next year.

Fishman Dan

Go Skaifey - that Holden package is a class above.

Go Skaifey - that Holden package is a class above.

What the hell happened to Skaife ??? I heard he didn't even complete the first lap.

Was it a bung clutch Tezza ?

goughy
8th October 2006, 01:39 PM
On the radio I heard someone rear-ended him at the first corner into the wall. Both cars out within 100mtrs.

terryand
8th October 2006, 03:18 PM
It was either a dodgy clutch or he fried it on the line and the car never got going. He got around the first corner with the clutch slip[ping all the way up mountain straight, then one of the young guys came over a blind bump, had no where to go and collected him.

Terry.

GO Ford

great race

shazza_rs
8th October 2006, 05:59 PM
Skaife never gets away from the line well...... i expected him to bog it as per usual..... sounds to me like he had a dodgy clutch.... :)

Unfortunate to get collected from behind from a rookie who had no where to go........

Congrats to Lowndes.... down and out one of the best drivers ever (even though he drives for the wrong manufacturer :( )

Courty
8th October 2006, 06:38 PM
Lowndes must have some awesome engineers in his garage to get a Ford to last all the way to the end of the race.

Grunt
8th October 2006, 07:01 PM
Woo Hoo had a bet with Lowndes. Very happy to see the result while at work this afternoon.

On a sad note, driver Mark Porter died last night as a result of injuries he received from the crash he was involved in last friday :(

very sad :(

brad
9th October 2006, 12:55 PM
Looks like Lowndes had something that only after market holdens can get - better electricals ... hehehe :) (woops my prejudice is showing)

Was on the edge of my seat for the last 30 mins.

Great race! Unfortunately eclipsed by the tragic news of the fatality :(
