So ordered set of P790s January 10 told should be ready 10 days after January 28.Having heard nothing I rang and am told April 10 due to shafts delay. So im clearly not happy and am considering canceling order as 3 months from order is poor service and also prices may be cheaper and a new model closer to being bought out. What do you guys think?

3 months for custom orders sounds about right currently. Supply/demand plus the same component supply and overall logistical issues affecting everything right now don’t help. If you wait and reorder you’ll probably get hit with the same delays again.

It’s a pain in the arse though, no doubt.

What do you guys think? In my business we got some customers orders on back order with manufacturers for 15 months and still no ETA. Global supply chain issues are affecting everything. 3 months is nothing in some cases.

Agree with what the others have said. The supply chain is stuffed right now. There are big lead times with almost everything at the moment. Last year, our pro shop had a bunch of sets they wanted to deliver, but they were being held up for months due to a shortage of grips. They are facing the same issue still with grips, but also shafts now.

If you cancel your order, your chances of getting anything custom built on a quicker timeframe is not good.

I've got a Sunday bag getting replaced under warranty. It went back late October, latest update is that it will be here in May.

I'm seeing manufacturing lead times for some items going from 1-2 weeks to 30-32 weeks. Just be glad shafts don't need microchips.

Just got my irons, 4 weeks ahead of schedule 😍 Longer lead times are being given due to new vokeys coming next month but most clubs are arriving ahead of there quoted 6-8 weeks. Unless of course a unique grip or shaft is requested.

I've heard that Yamaha has over 1000x Golf Buggies on backorder from Japan.

Currently just getting drip fed.

Cisco told a very large customer (big 4 bank) there was a 182 day wait on some specialized network gear.

I got fitted for the T100 before they were launched. I was told 4 or 5 weeks lead time and they showed up in something crazy like 10 days. The rep said that Titleist was prioritising custom orders ahead of retail. Good service in my books!

This was just for some 100Gig transceivers not switches etc.

HP had a 4 month wait on docks in November, cancelled my order and decided to buy new monitors instead (usb-c powered, plus 4k rocks)

I have had an Orotofon stylus (needle for record player) on order since September; apparently Japan has major manufacturing issues at present.

Worldwide supply issue, and not just the golfing industry

It's also created a bidding war for some tech components, reports that some are paying over 100 times list price just to get supply.
