Also thought of just buy a bunch from RSPCA and after finish just dump it all back to them and consider the cost as "rent" ;)

When you organise a party, sky is the limit. That's why most narrow minded people can never organise an awesome party :D

I think Courty has asked the only sensible question here - why the hell do you need cats?

If you need a room of them - I'd try and find animal trainers/talent agents - I'm sure cats for movies are more well behaved than the cats you'll find at the pound or RSPCA!

Oh let me clarify the term "full room of cat"

I don't really mean a 80 cats all camped in a 200ft room. : p

What I mean is... lets say 5-12 cats.... perferable kitten (kitten don't dislike each other, right?) would be nice different type and colour. For a room of size can situate 20-30 people with comfort.

I commend you for trying to cheer someone up. But let me give a piece of advice. Don't rent a room full of cats-if you think having a live cat is really necessary get one from an animal trainer/talent agent and fill the room up with cat pictures/statues etc. No ethical animal breeder/keeper is going to give you 5-12 small kittens for a party and I dare say you will have trouble getting even 2-3 adults. Also it won't be a nice party when those cats you do manage to get, get upset or scared surrounded by 20-30 people and scratch them and/or bite them or piss on the carpet, and believe me, they will. Cats are renowned for having a mind of their own and not being particularly sociable ie not great for parties.
You are a smart guy-just consider what I am saying.

Andy - that is hilarious, well done for coming up with something original. I hope you pull it off. I cant just see the faces of your mate/s when they turn up expecting "more pussy than they can handle"

Just dont let Macleod hear about this. He declared Jihad against the author of "101 things to do to dead cats" book. You do realise he is a cross between Jane Goodall and Steve Irwin, dont you? except with him its cats.

check out the newspaper adverts, there are always people giving away a ton of kittens.

LOL> I was just thinking alomg these lines, sort of like when you go to a Chinese restaurant that has the live Lobsters or Coral Trout swimming around the tanks. You can select the one you wish to eat...

For all you have said I did seriously considered. I actually own a cat before and I know they have the never compromise catsonality and thats why I refused to have another one.

Its only a very very draft idea and the party is not going to happen until another few months away. But knowing its kinda ridiculous to organise something like this, so I thought I better put up the question much earlier and hopfully I can gather enough info (instead of the recipe of cooking one)

I really like your idea on wall full of cat pics :) I will use that. Thanks for the suggestion.

MTB, don't worry... just a draft... a very very draft idea. Let alone to find 5-10 cats.... I don't even know where I can find a venue allows me to put a few cats in there even if I actually found enough cats

I believe you guys probably think too hard about it. It will be just a normal party like one of those you attend during weekend... and add a few pet cats.

Put it this way, you having a party in the home of a cat lover. Nothing wrong with it right? ;)
