How good is this time of year in Oz?

I will have to say I love this time of year, beautiful mornings, even better days. How good is golf in Spring? Summer is coming.
Sitting in the backyard typing this thread with the laptop, dog at my feet, beer at my side. Does it get any better than this? keep it clean ;)

Generally, I would agree. However, the swooping magpies will soon change that.

As soon as the babies hatch they'll be cracking open noggins like there is no tomorrow.

I nearly got blown away today in 30kt winds as I tried to play around Belvoir Park. A dry and dusty course with empty dams and the prospect of a long hot summer ahead. Greens were crusty and cracking.

no, they actually have hooks in the tips of their wings.

If they snag you with them they can really do some damage.

They're pretty bad up here too. They build their nests all over our course. God help you if you hit your ball near one. It's very difficult to concentrate on your shot when 2 angry bastard plovers keep swoopng at you. Piss funny when it happens to someone else though.

Grunt - the warm weather apparently isn't going to last with snow expected at Thredbo on Monday and an extremely cold change coming our way!

True same here altough our greens staff sometimes "accidently" run over the nests when mowing. It helps keep the nbrs down:smt002

It feels like I'm in Tassie this morning, cool and drizzly in Brisbane at the moment.

so much so, that Hootie and the Blowfish wrote one of their classic songs about the little buggers

"Plover, Plover, Plover you don't treat me no good no more"

How embarrassment.

If you are going to crack 'dad jokes', at least get the artist (Sonia Dada) correct.

I couldn't dig up one of yours as you tend to not discuss the weather much. Maybe I'll search cleavage instead
