View Full Version : Clicgear umbrella spacer?

Hi guys

Played a round in the rain yesterday and forgot I always hit my head against my umbrella when I attach to my clicgear buggy.

I'm using a normal golf umbrella and clicgear attachment, but it's a touch too short for me to walk under.

There is a spacer attachment you can buy, but $20 for a piece of plastic seems a bit over the top.

Anyone have any suggestions? (besides buying an umbrella with extra long handle).

Thanks

Of top of my head would either be a length of aluminium or engineering plastic solid round.
Something you could tap into either end.
But cannot see that being any cheaper in the long run but could get it cut to whatever length you wanted.

Agreed, it is designed for midgets

Are you using the umbrella holder that is supplied with the Clicgear buggy? If so there is an extended version available that also has an adjustable knuckle to change the angle - I use this one and it works fine (I'm 6'1" and like you the supplied one was hopeless as way too short)

Buy the extended version ^^ and a longer umbrella. It will cost you more but is well worth the money compared to getting even more annoyed in the rain

Bad enough the buggies are so expensive, then you have to spend heaps more to get the attachments [emoji19]

Only drama I have with using the umbrella attachment is I cannot use my steering knob, does anyone have a solution around this?

i tilt the handle a notch or two higher in the rain

Thanks guys.

Seems like the adjustable arm or spacer might be the best goer.

Tilting the handle is a great idea short term!
