Hello all

Am wondering about a few different vintage clubs I have come across in my dad’s garage. If I could get some info about their age/rarity/value, that would be very much appreciated. Or if you could point me to somewhere I could get this info...

I have:
A full 1-SW iron set, Prosimmon BeCu. Most in good condition.
Also have a ‘Von Nida’ Swingweight putter.

Any info you have about these would be great.

Prosimmon was a fairly dominant australian brand late 80's early 90's as other brands like PGF had faded very quickly by that time.
By the looks of them, I would say these are older than that.

Prosimmons clubs are still available. Prosimmons is a house brand of Golf World/Mart and as I understand it both are owned by Denis Brosnan/Brosnan Golf.

My first set of new clubs were a set of Prosimmons. The particular iron model escapes me at the moment, but they were purchased early 80s as part of a set including Driver and Fairway Woods.

Being a Becu model suggests to me around the same era, when Beryllium irons were popular e.g. Becu Ping Eye 2s and ISIs. Berryllium went out of fashion, once the toxicity factor became well know. Plus they were quite expensive at the time. There would be very little collectability factor for these irons, or indeed most golf clubs.

DRK 111 were a cavity back model that looked a little like pings but with a wider sole , they had a really nice set of woods with them though (wood , woods ) But it also transcended into a metal wood as well , I always wanted a set when I was a junior

Prosimmon made excellent clubs in the 80's, and rubbish in the 90's. The players blades were Staff, Classic and Hallmark which were used by many good players including Senior, Riley and Harwood etc. Their persimmon woods were very good too.

Can you post a pic of what you have?

Prosimmon Hallmark and PGF Aristocrat were the irons I drooled over as a teenager. Don't reckon I could even make contact with those butter knives anymore.
