Doing a bit of long range planning, Timah and I are keen to give this a run this year. I assume usual suspects will be keen?

Waiting to see if Linda has any uni assignments due, otherwise we were thinking of staying the weekend to check out the MTB trails.

Crazy time of year for me right now, but I might see if I can get the day off.
Pencil me in as the 8th, if my late entry is allowed, and I will confirm back in the morning? (My boss is US-based so snoozing soundly right now).

Green light officially given to the day off; turn that pencil into pen. Let me know if my super late inclusion is ok.

I'll probably stay up there for Thursday night too, and maybe even Friday.

PeteyD
7th August 2020, 09:21 PM
Thursday would be good. Friday depends on if I get into the match-play or not

Mrs Henno wants to work from her Toowoomba office Friday and driving back Friday night sounds shitty, so we'll probably just find a bed somewhere.

Giggity.

I'd be keen to play if another group can be sorted or someone can't make it.

AndyP

I think I read that it was sold out, so we'll see if there is a withdrawal.

Andy, do we pay on the day or do you need us to send you cash?

AndyP

We just pay in the pro shop on the day.

Did we book carts? Did we need to?

goughy
20th August 2020, 08:23 PM
I was able to get two, as far as I know. Sometimes, more have popped up on the day.

AndyP
20th August 2020, 09:34 PM
How many need carts would be the first thing to establish.

PeteyD
21st August 2020, 04:48 AM
I would prefer one if possible.

goughy
21st August 2020, 05:17 AM
One of those was planned for you Petey, in the back of my mind. The other I had was allowing for Andy if he needed it. Usually you have to twist his arm to take one, but I didn't know how his recovery would be by then.

henno
21st August 2020, 10:21 AM
I am happy to walk or cart. No big deal for me either way.

goughy
21st August 2020, 10:43 AM
Handy to have one cart in each group, so someone can zoom off to look for or collect balls.

10:30a is the earliest that I remember for this event. I was thinking about playing a quick nine somewhere on the way up, but it might be too tight for time.

I saw something about gatherings in the area (due to COVID). No dramas for this?

Hi guys. Just got back from having my brain tickled with a COVID test. I have a bit of a cough and sore throat and am losing my voice, so in the interests of safety I might have to pull the pin on this unless something miraculous happens in the next 24 hours.

PeteyD
31st August 2020, 12:18 PM
Damn. Hope it comes back clear. You don't want the Rona.

These gathering rules are only applying to private gatherings, not to places that have a COVID-safe plan, like golf courses.

Close the borders to Wynnum NOW!!!!!

Highly recommended.

Not because of COVID, but just in general.

PeteyD
31st August 2020, 12:54 PM
Is there some way to remove Wynnum West?

henno
31st August 2020, 01:13 PM
Meth and old age should take care of that in the next decade or so.

Hi guys. Just got back from having my brain tickled with a COVID test.

18 hours from test to results is pretty darn quick.

All negative, btw.

Good news. Are you back in?

henno

I think so. I feel pretty reasonable today so assuming I feel better again tomorrow, I'll be in.

Happy to stand aside if there is someone who wants to jump in without the risk.

Runny nose and sore throat has started for me tonight, so I'll be off for a test in the morning. Unlikely I'll get a same day response, so I'll have to withdraw.

I'll be bringing a mask in my pocket though. Just in case I get a case of the coughs again, and mostly to make people feel safe even though I know I am COVID-free.

4th September 2020, 07:37 AM
Can't wait to catch up! I only just remembered that I didn't play last year as Rob and I had Tim Minchen in brissie, so I only came down for a while; and got smashed by the worst allergies I've ever experienced and even had to stop for a break while driving home. Doped myself up already, and bringing more with me! First game of golf in 2.5 years........... Bloody hell I have to take up that Gailes membership thing.

Kinda awesome day, to tell the truth. Perfect weather, perfect course, perfect company, and great play saw Andy, Pete, Shaz and I win! So over the moon still. Tess, Peteyd and henno came 5th. Between that and the raffles, two tables full of prizes.

Beautiful weather for a very important day!

Very pleased to be the winners of the day with Goughy, AndyP and Peter_rs. I’ll let goughy give you his personal highlight reel! Can honestly say that was the best round a group I’ve been in had managed to put together. Two eagles and a stack of birdies and most importantly no soft bogies.

Congrats to the other Ozgolfers for a very credible 5th place in a group of 3! (Well 2.5 really ::) )

goughy
5th September 2020, 09:20 AM
I can only assume you're referring to my 3 attempts at 3 wood and one with 1i that all rolled along the ground?

Absolutely. That 1 iron was pretty special!

Friday was the most enjoyable day on the course that I've had for ages. Great team to play with, and the win was the icing on the cake. I'm looking forward to seeing our names on the shield next year, and try to defend our title.
