Played 36 holes Saturday and i'm now in a world of hurt
I've had left wrist issues for a while and just deal with it but yesterday & today my left knee is very sore and my fingers are tender
Thought i'd ask if any Ozgolfers use Supplements to ease joint pain
I don't currently take medication of any description so i would be interested in some feedback
Cheers

I am starting to develop Osteo-Arthritis in my fingers, as well as cramping up after just about every round now that it's getting 'warmer'. Bioglan Active Magnesium + Curcumin seems to have done the trick for me. Although the bumpy knuckles are still there, the associated pain has almost disappeared, and the cramps are no more... Highly recommend.

Thanks exmrblonde i'll give them a shot
Did you have a reason to go with Curcumin rather than Glucosamine?
Cheers

Krill Oil tablets are your friend, not really going to do anything now though as it needs to build up in your system over time.

Best bet is a Panadeine Forte tablet, just have one and that will take the edge off the pain.

I take magnesium, glucosamine and cucurmin.

I was having a ton of aches and pains from sport.

Started taking mag and glucosamine at the advice of mates. I went and saw a chiro for an issue earlier this year and he recommended cucurmin to me.

I've been taking all 3, just a pill a day, and it has made a noticeable difference. The other week, I missed a week and noticed that I started to ache again.

I used to have bad foot pain in the mornings and this has completely disappeared.

Chemist Warehouse is your friend for these purchases.

If your other half takes period pain tablets give them a go ( no joke ) good anti inflammatory, also you can get a combo tablet paracetamol and anti inflammatory over the counter at chemist warehouse. Keeps me playing golf , but don’t take long term , better off with JC’s combo

I should be. I have osteo starting in my fingers, and my knees are cactus. I've tried glucosamine tablets, but the bastards are like swallowing a seat cushion; I've always had trouble swallowing tablets. And now I'm on 5 odd tablets a day, I just can't be buggered. I'll probably pay for it though.

Get your GP to prescribe you Natproxen 500mg - same stuff as period pain (but almost double strength - 500mg vs 275mg in most period pain meds), but way cheaper - $8.99 for 50 tablets from Chemist Warehouse, instead of ~$12 for 24 of the weaker ones. Hell, get your GP to prescribe some for your other half - avoid the "female tax".

I have a type of chronic arthritis, and these mostly do the job for me - at least better than the other anti-inflammatory drugs I've tried.

Same for me and I have now added Panadol Osteo which has helped even more.
My problem is lower back and both knees, both riddled with osteoarthritis.

Hi,

I've been taking Thomsons Glucosamine 1500, Thomsons Kave One-A-Day and Voltaron Rapid 25mg for a few years mainly as a precaution to pain but a couple years back had to go to Diclofenac 50gm which is basically double dose of Voltaron Rapid 25mg and I just get by, but sore after round.

Now, I'm scheduled for a total left hip replacement on 3/12/19 as the socket cartiladge has just degraded too much. Orthopaedic surgeon agrees that I should be able to start chipping after a couple weeks, hitting 3/4 shots after about 5 weeks and playing on course after 6 weeks but using a cart. Rehab is up to me to get upper leg muscles firm again as they've degraded over the last 3 months as I've hardly be able to wal, carting on course.

Cheerz :) :D ;)

I have been taking Krill Oil and Lyprinol for a few years. Though the Krill is more for Blood/Cholesterol Health. And I use Ibuprofen for short term pain/ache management as it is a Pain Killer and Ant-Inflamatory combo.

I might give the Glucosamine/Magnesium/Curcumin Trio a go as well. And Brand/Combo recommendations? I saw Bioglan mentioned earlier.
