Worst club in your bag

mine is my 3 wood .... i just can't seem to hit this thing well at all :? It's a great club..and now has an awesome shaft in it.. but for the life of me i just can't seem to hit it well, especially off the deck :evil: Even on the odd day when i'm swinging the clubs well, i still pull this one outta the bag and hit it like crap :oops:

Is it possible for a club to be not suited to someone :?

I'm thinking of ditching it for either a Sonartec NP-99 or a 14* TP Rescue.

3 Wood is the worst in my bag...or was until I replaced it with a 4+ wood 8) and this thing I have on a string :D hit one yesterday into the wind from 180 out, to 6 foot 8) :D

Definitely can't be the club. I remember seeing some guy consistently hitting that thing down the middle. :wink:

I don't like my 3I, hence the upcoming purchase of a rescue club. I never really used my 4I until these last few rounds. It's going OK, has played some nice shots. Still coming to grips with my 58°, but it is far from the worst.
So that's 3I for me.

Another vote for the 3 wood. No confidence with it, especially off the turf. I have just ordered the Ashton 3 wood which is a shallow faced, low COG fairway wood. I hope it works ... :roll:

Whats wrong with hitting a 3 wood off the deck. My 3 wood is my favourtie club in the bag.

What do you mean when you say you cant hit it off the deck? What sorta shots are you getting with it?

Nick's right - my 3w can be my best mate some days, others i won't use it and pull 3-iron instead.

My current nemesis is the 6-iron. Not getting the distance i used to, and i am still hooking most shots with it. There's a par 3 at Fox Hills where i need to dial in using it, and the bastard still hasn't treated me right, leaving me to make a dodgy recovery. :evil:

The worst club in my bag for consistency are my wedges. I can either hit it to 3 feet, or dunk it in a bunker....very frustrating....at leats I know its cause I try and force the issue some times......stupid short side.....

The one that costs me the most strokes might be my driver though....You can recover from a poor wedge shot and get up and down, but get the driver going sideways on just one hole and it's hello double bogey....especially with a high clubhead speed....

I struggle with the putter a bit, and the 3W has it's problems, too. I skull my wedges most of the time and my 3, 4, and 5 irons , well I just can't hit 'em. Driver rarely goes straight and 6 iron thru to PW always let me down.

Otherwise things are fine.

And my umbrella leaks.

jarro - perhaps you should ditch the 3 wood, and just play the driver and the RM for a couple of weeks to 1) give it a rest, and 2) see if you play/score any better with just the driver and RM...

my 3 wood was shocking this weekend, but it had more to do with my choky swing all weekend...something for me to work on this week on the course/range... :roll: :roll: :roll:

Consistently bad: my 5 iron :evil: - my set was made up an inch over reg in length, and hubby thinks that this may be affecting my ability to get the ball in the air with it. After choking down on it for a couple of shots and producing better results, I am inclined to agree with him.

Variably bad: pick any other club in my bag, depending on how I am swinging it..... currently - that would be driver. :roll: :oops:

my worst club is anything I use to chip with - I can hit full shots great, but anything less than a full swing (even down to a chip) I tend to hit like a punch shot and it's always bad news!
