How many teams will we get travelling up the hill this year for this ambrose event?

This thread is for putting your name down for the golf day. There is another thread for the fundraising: https://www.ozgolf.net/showthread.php/55134-Leon-Treadwell-Memorial-2019-Pledger-Ledger

At this stage, all I have is the date. Hopefully some more details come through soon.

Tickets are $60 and include 18 holes of golf, share platter, complimentary drink ticket and goodie bag.

Might be worth contacting Toowoomba Golf Club at Middle Ridge and check. It's the other course in town and is a great walk.

The starting time was 11a last year.

I won't be able to play a round the next day, as I'm off to a musical. I might try and squeeze a country nine in again on the Friday morning, like I did last year though.

It is a bit concerning that we haven't seen entry forms 5 weeks out from the event. Is there anything that you can chase up at your end, maybe the golf club? I pulled the date above from a foundation letter that is probably a couple of months old.

I pulled the date above from a foundation letter that is probably a couple of months old. I'll put it in my diary to get in touch on the 7th. That's when they said they would up and going in their new offices. They said contact would be scant between now and then, and posted up a phone number for urgent contact.

If you are after a cart, we should get that sorted early too, as they can be difficult to get. I owe goughy a cart, and I do probably need one this year, but he has snobbed me, so I could share with someone else.

Hi all. I've booked three groups, all in my name. Two groups will start on 13, and the other will start on 18 (14 was an option, but I thought a shorter walk might be better). I can change if we want three groups in a row.

I also booked one cart for myself, so if you want a cart, we need to book it ASAP, as there are only a couple left.

It is a 12p shotgun start, but we need to get there a decent amount of time before that, as usual.

Here's what I currently have for numbers. Hopefully we can get a couple more, or else it is two groups of three.

Let's wait and see. It is easier to drop a group, than add one, and I need to see what a sports doctor thinks about my playing golf. The appointment is next Tuesday.

Whichever team I'm in automatically drops to the bottom!

When they said they had only two left I just booked 'em. Didn't figure they'd end up hard to offload in an Ambrose event...... Although, last year I couldn't give one away and pretty much had to twist your arm to take it! Westy refused it as well.

goughy

AndyP
1st April 2019, 10:14 AM
You only have to play the first four holes, so they can use your drives.

goughy
1st April 2019, 10:24 AM
They'll need 36 holes to get 4 worthwhile drives though...

AndyP
3rd April 2019, 09:49 AM
A setback with my injury, but I didn't specifically ask the doctor if I could play golf. Since he didn't say that I couldn't play golf, I'll take that as meaning that I can play next week.

This is a last call for any players. Briswesty has said that he is interested in playing, but that would have us as a nine, which doesn't work, so if we could get a couple more, it would be great. Otherwise, I will release the third group in a couple of days.

goughy
3rd April 2019, 11:13 AM
OT, what's happening with your injuries these days?

goughy
3rd April 2019, 11:25 AM
I've been chatting with Shaz about me having to leave early. Not that that was an issue for them, but if we've got 9, I think I should step down and westy take my spot. I'll still be down there regardless; I'm sure I can help out with stuff or something. But I feel rude and like I'm letting the group down having to choof off before the day is done.

OT, what's happening with your injuries these days? They don't fix good. On-going pelvis pain for seven months now, that was diagnosed as mainly osteitis pubis (bone stress, muscle and pubic symphysis joint inflammation), but hasn't improved enough. I had a sports doctor look at the previous MRI yesterday and he found a bonus injury in there (secondary cleft for another muscle tear), that might explain it.

It's all happening in the downstairs department.
